I have an issue with people reading these books when they are older and saying things like, "Ugh. Mia is so whiny. When I was younger I would have given it a 5-star rating, but I just can't now." Hello!!! The book was written for teens, who are typically that insecure and anxious. It wasn't written for you, who is an adult, and typically not as insecure and anxious. Your brains are far more developed as well. Please stop trashing a book for acting like a teenager, ya know, who it is written for. I just don't get it.
Anyway, I love this book. Does Mia complain a lot? Yes! She is a teen girl with a lot on her plate who also happens to have high emotional intelligence and worries, which adds on to the anxiety. You also have to think that this is literally her journal, where you can whine as much as you want about your life.
I found Mia to have nuggets of wisdom in her spirals. I also found a lot of the government talk to be accurate to today's time as well. And I am quite relieved to see that Michael is still amazing. Seriously, my young self loved Michael Moscovitz and my current self is wondering where the real life version is for me.

Michael has to put up with a LOT.
So in this instalment, Lilly had the great idea of nominating Mia a a student president candidate. There’s very little Grandmere, which means a lot less laughs, and Mia hits a rough patch in her relationship with Michael because of Lana.
So it’s all just a normal day for Mia then.

One of my favourites in the PD series. Mia goes through a LOT in this one, and it brings back all the memories of being fifteen again. Such a fun book!
