There were aspects of this book I really liked, but it just really kind of lost me after about 60% or so. I was still intrigued, but something just started to miss the mark.

I wanted to like Troy, but I really didn’t. I didn’t hate him, but he was really frustrating and hard to understand. Rebel/Hendrix was a great character, and def what Troy needed, but I kinda felt like he deserved more? Their relationship just didn’t fully hit for me like I was expecting it to in the beginning.

I did really love when Troy started referring to Rebel as Hendrix (his real name, not stage name) in his internal thoughts. It def showed how Troy regarded him and that change from him being Rebel, his fave pornstar to Hendrix, his friend, et. al. That part did really stick out to me, especially given my irritation with Troy as a character.

Also, rather annoyingly, there seems to be only smut scenes in the beginning halfish of the book. I don’t mind it not being constant smut, etc, but I didn’t like how we only really got to see the beginning ‘fk buddy’ style of their relationship. There were a few smaller scenes in the later parts of the book, but they just kind of felt disconnected from it. It def played into how choppy and undeveloped certain things felt.

Overall though, there’s lots of potential and I’m def intrigued by some of the other Ballsy Boys and their books. Hopefully the authors get into the groove of co-writing and future books  fine tune some of the structural issues B1 had.

I really enjoyed this book, it was exactly what I was in the mood for.

Some of the writing and dialogue was a little bit immature and I found the premise of Troy being paid to dump people as a vehicle to meeting Rebel, bizarre and unnecessary.

I loved both the main characters, they were distinct and likeable and I think the authors actually did a really good job of making the reader buy into why Troy was such a commitment phobe which is something other books I’ve read with similar tropes have struggled.

There were some slightly heavier and emotional bits near the end that were a little rushed but still written sensitively.

The smut was smutty, playful and enjoyable to read. Looking forward to some enemies-to-lovers in Tank and Brewer’s book.

Seamlessly written by two of my favourite authors, Rebel introduces us to the world of the Ballsy Boys.

Rebel is a porn star and has a string of failed relationships due to that fact. Troy doesn't have any relationships, not even friends. He prefers it this way as everyone leaves him sooner or later. These two get together in a case of instant attraction, but it is soon more than that for both of them. Now if Rebel can just get Troy to admit it!!!

What a hot sexy mess this book was, and I don't mean that in a bad way! Troy IS a mess, and so is Rebel to a different degree. They both work it out but the best part for me was watching them, seeing their feelings so clearly.

With plenty of sexy times, camaraderie, and humour, Rebel is a fantastic story that has just whetted my appetite for more of these Ballsy Boys! Absolutely recommended by me.

I'm so glad I picked up this series! I started it because I was in a major reading slump and had previously read Neuhold's mafia series (totally recommend btw).

Although Hendrix (Rebel) and Troy's story starts with a banana suit meet-cute turned enthusiastic "sorry your ex boyfriend was an asshat" blowjob situation, these two develop a friends to lovers relationship that will put you in your feels. Troy sees Rebel for all that he is and does, and accepts him exactly like that. We get to see Rebel give Troy time, patience, and understanding until Troy is brave enough to declare his feelings for Hendrix (Rebel) despite his debilitating fear of rejection and abandonment.

The books in this series so far— I'm two books in— have been low angst, quick reads with plenty of funny banter, smut, and emotional character development. Also, even with her darker romance series, I appreciate how the author puts a hot, refreshing emphasis on consent and boundary/kink discussions in her books.

I will definitely be continuing the series!

Won’t be continuing the series.

Troy sucked. He really didn’t have any growth from the whole book.

Rebel is kinda desperate. He really wanted someone who accepted what he did it felt like he just attached himself to Troy because he fanboyed over him when he met him. Then he goes and quits porn for the relationship he wasn’t even in with Troy at the time? I’d understand more if it was brought up before they met that he was thinking about leaving that to work more in a director position with it.

The other characters we got a glimpse of doesn’t interest me into wanting to keep going.
