This was an enjoyable story that drew me in from the very start and had plenty of suspense. As for the story itself it was full of twists that really had me hooked throughout and a killer who was cunning, clever and completely determined to outwit the FBI.

As for the romantic element I thought it was balanced well with the suspense and both main characters Samantha and Blake were really likable and worked well as a couple. As well as partners and overall I did think this was a very engaging story that I would definitely recommend to anyone who loves a good Romantic Suspense story or is a fan of this author. However I would certainly suggest reading The Gathering Dusk before starting this book.

Oh no. This one was probably the least favourite of Cynthia Eden's. Please skip the review if you haven't read the book yet.

Its like any other RS by her - fast paced, action filled and racy. Infact this one had a higher romantic side. What lacked here (unfortunately, what i expect in a good RS book), is brilliant suspense. There is none here. We know the bad guy from the start, and suddenly we know a copy cat who is also a new face. It is not like the suspense that hits you on the face.

The climax was well written, but again it felt like reading a action paced book, rather than suspenseful. Blake and Samantha were good together. I didn't like any other character much, may be I liked little bit of Lewis.

I read this book the last in the series, and I honestly swear the other two are BRILLIANT. Period.

Thoroughly enjoyed

I absolutely love these thriller/romance books of Cynthia Eden's. They are just so well written. You have suspense, betrayal, love and romance. Nothing like a serial killer to get the blood pumping. Can't wait for the next one.

Neat premise to have a profiler who has personal connection to a serial killer
Story super twisty and unexpected, really enjoyed the psychology added in between, the was Sam profiles
Enjoyed romance as well, strong characters and a great start to the series, read until 2am
Looking forward to book #2

This was essentially a hotter version of Criminal Minds! I was a little conflicted on my thoughts for this one but I settled on 3 because I did enjoy it, but it also annoyed me.

I liked the book as soon as I picked it up. The first chapter REALLY grabs you and I thought it was interesting that we didn’t need to identify the killer but that we instead just had to trap them. It was fast paced and gritty, which I thought was exciting. Then add in the sexual tension and it was also HAWT.

BUT I wasn’t a fan of any of the characters and the romance itself felt lackluster and based solely on sexual attraction. There wasn’t really a lot of depth there no matter how much the author tried. The plot worked for me but the writing/characters didn’t, so that’s a bummer. I may try another of her books in this series but I’m not really sure. I did have this book on my shelf since like 2018/2019 so I’m glad I FINALLY read it!

Sadly after reading the LOST series, this one just wasn't as good for me.

This is a story which is packed full of secrets, mystery, power struggles, twists and turns, passion, and love. Cynthia Eden has outdone herself with the storyline and writing of this wonderful book.
I was sucked in from the first chapter and I didn't want to put it down!

Smart. Sexy. Riveting. I felt the chemistry with every breath. I truly love this author's writing!
