I was a bit annoyed to start with, because it skipped a bit of the bait, like end of part 1 with the intro of the huntsman being swiftly over in panel one of the next part. Then there was the wish to be normal for a day, totally glazed over. I think it was mainly for some quick laughs, but I'd have liked some more plot to go with it.
The plot definitely got better when Happy was introduced because it gave more urgency and point to Gert's task, after 27 years.
The style reminded me of the Lalaloopsy dolls (that I so badly wanted when I was younger) and I loved how trippy and sickly bright it all was.
I'll be looking out for volume 2, maybe in some winter sales or something.

Almost 30 years later, Gertrude is still searching for it - now an angry adult perpetually trapped in a child's body, with her voyage through Fairyland growing increasingly violent. When the outraged Queen Cloudia sends a rival child on the same quest for the sole key to freedom, does Gertrude have any chance of getting home?
This was a funny, gore-filled delight that mixes childish whimsy with classic horror - the Crypt Keeper crossed with Willy Wonka. The creative censorship of foul language was a particular source of amusement for me. I lapped it up in one sitting, and I can't wait to read the rest of the series!
