It's the one we all awaited - Quinn and Alaric, the two characters that have danced around one another for the whole series. I still can't believe how the book concluded. Action packed fights, demons, a crazy vampire queen, the missing rock as well as a Trident bent on destroying the dome over Atlantis and the ascension of the Seven Isles - all in one book. IF you thought this book was boring, rethink.
The love between both characters was amazingly subtle at first, both clearly knowing what they felt but being afraid of what would happen if they gave in to their emotions.

It wasn't as good an ending as it could have been, but it was good nonetheless. This marks the official last book in the series, even though the author stated, that some of the characters might get their own book or novella so she can tell their stories too. I'd really like to read more about what happened to Jack and Noriko.

It is hard to give this 3 stars because it slightly better than that but not a 4 star. I liked it, and at some parts, I really liked it. There were parts that had me laughing and it was fun to see all the past characters. The problem is that at some parts I was rolling my eyes in irritation. With the amount of irritation, I just couldn't bring myself to up the stars to 4.

Quinn and Alaric have been fighting their attraction to one another for the last 7 books and this is them finally coming together. The plot didn't make sense at one point with the baddie calling out Quinn. There was never any good explanation for this other than her being the leader of the resistance. If Anubisa had put him up to it, I would've understood better. Still, getting over the coincidence of this, it still had some big plot holes. Then on top of that the position Quinn puts herself in, was just stupid.
Spoiler and this doesn't happen just once. She goes right to the demon kin that already bested Alaric and Ven together in one encounter. Then later she goes to him and Alaric attacks right when he grabs her and teleports, this was a little much since Alaric would've never let her near enough before he could strike. Then the ending was drawn out and over the top during the battle scene.
These three scenes, even a couple hours after finishing, leave me a little irritated.

I know that there had to be a plot with some conflict but I would've hoped that it was with only Anubisa and not with a new baddie plus Anubisa. And then she could have had a subplot with Jack and the other characters that was more drawn out
Spoilerand not forced quickly at the end.
I didn't dislike the book, I just only liked it and mainly for Alaric and Quinn getting together
Spoiler This also seem quite near the end and piled on all at once
. And I liked revisiting all the other, as brief as it is.

If you are a fan of the series, it is worth reading.

I loved this book as much as all the other ones in the series! It's fun, funny, and filled with adventure. You'll love Quinn and Alaric - you just can't help it.

I've waited a long time for Quinn & Aleric's story. I have to admit I was a little underwhelmed with it. The first half of the book seems to be a lot of Quinn either running off or getting pulling into danger and then Aleric having a meltdown and threatening innocent people because Quinn is in danger. It picks up in the second half but it seemed like some plot threads were picked up and then just petered out. Faust was introduced as the young descendent of Ares, with power over fire but then nothing every happens with it. There are a couple of threads like that. I was also kind of disappointed with the ending for Jack. I do hope we see him again somewhere and that he gets his HEA. There were a lot of nice reunions as well so in that respect it was a satisfying series ender, but it's far from my favorite in the series.

This one took me way to long to read. It was hard to follow the chain of events and who all the players were. The book kept ending and ending and ending.

OH MAN. I was surprised by how much I loved this book. I hate Alaric... Or at least I have until this book. oh and I HATED Qhuinn. I didn't feel bad for them not being able to be together. Nope. Alaric was just always this incredibly asshole side character and Qhuinn was the bitch rebel leader. Thats just how I saw them in the past books. But this book changed my mind.

...Well kind of. I still think Qhuinn is a bitch and I still think Alaric is an asshole but they have good reasons... and not just the whole he can't have sex and well Qhuinn wasn't just a bitch lol. Alaric has basically decided that he is done with Poseidon. He wants to give up his job and be with Qhuinn. Aww... kind of. But right now Atlantis is in a crisis. Someone has claimed to be the true king of Atlantis and he happens to have the last gem they need. ohhhh and this big faker also happens to want to make babies with Qhuinn. Thats whats happening on earth.. and in Atlantis the Trident is going wonky and the dome is cracking. AH. So there's a lot happening in this book. The bitchy Qhuinn breaks down and cries and the steady Alaric goes bat shit crazy. It's all a good time!

It's always bittersweet when I read the last book in a series that I loved and I LOVED this series. It's the first series I've read by Alyssa Day and I am going to read more from her because her writing is intense and detailed without being obnoxious with the color of people tennis shoes. Anyways... I don't think I could have come up with a better ending. It was sappy (as all the books from this series have been sappy at the end) but it wrapped everything up nicely andddd there was a little bit of a hint for maybe another series? I honestly don't know. I haven't gone and stalked Alyssa to find out what series is next or if it's connected. But I'm going to!!! :)
