Strength of character, faith in the impossible and hope for the future are put to the test. Calum and Eve's friendship is as unique as their reunion is surprising. Beyond the boundaries of social class and despite the hands of time, the lonely girl with a title and the pick pocket, had a love that although interrupted, withstood the hands of time. Now the lonely girl has become a lady haunted by her past and in danger of losing her future and the penniless boy has become a fearless man. Their's is a complicated history of unwitting betrayals and dangerous liaisons, but even with no memory of the past that haunts Eve, Calum's heart is drawn to hers. He taught her what it meant to love, she shows him how it feels to care and together they discover what it means to be brave.
Ms. Caldwell speaks the language of the heart, like no other.

Again with the sobbing! Calum is too good for this world. Was maybe a little disappointed with the end, but I know we get an Adair book in another series, so I'm reserving judgment for now!

Sinful brides book 4
I love this series and this one was no less a joy to read. I loved that they had a past, and the joy between them. Wish we knew more about what happened to Gerard though, feels a little disappointing to not fully know. And Kit still needs a story!! Lol

Omgosh. Christi liked to make me cry, and I did in the very beginning of this book. I could see the children and was so sad for what was happening. I loved it! I was a little surprised that it took him so long to recognize her, but then it made it better when he did. Loved it!
*I was provided a copy from the author via NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
My heart was in it from the start with what happened all those years ago. Then I was holding my breath when she was running and I was hooked even more. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see how she would be discovered and what would happen then. That instant feeling of knowing each other, but not realizing it at first kept the suspense going wondering when he would realize it. I held my breath when her brother showed up and did not expect at all how everything would end. I loved the journey of forgiveness of themselves and each other.
Eva was extremely strong to have made it all these years with her brother and is so close to being safe. I loved her right away because she knew what she had to do and didn't back down when talking to her brother. She always put others first and wanted to protect everyone. She also was very understanding of why most people did what they did.
Calum always took care of his family and others and put himself last. He comes off as a person not to be messed with, but he is more understanding and kind than you realize. I loved how he was with everyone and that he asked his sister what to do. He reacts to somethings differently than you expect.

This feels like a complete and utter fairytale. The 'noble' former pickpocket Calum is now a co-owner of a gaming hell, but things aren't going well since half the owners of the club has married into aristocracy, amazingly, this somehow impacts their club.
Lady Eve Pruitt is trying to save her inheritance from the clutches of her evil brother, who happens to be the bastard who almost killed Calum when he was a pickpocket. When trying to save herself from an unwanted marriage, she masquerades as the new bookkeeper for the club. inevitably, the two protagonist meet and a love story happens.
The story is cliched beyond belief and frankly quite improbable. The protagonist side are too noble, those wonderful gaming hell owners and the antagonists, the majority of the aristocracy are the bad guys. If you've read the first book, the story is extremely similar.
Well-written, but ultimately extremely predictable. My recommendation if it's on Kindle Unlimited, it's a quick read, but definitely not worth buying
