Where He Can't Find You is a great choice if you want a horror book that's not too gorey! There's some disturbing details, but since it's YA it isn't too descriptive! The pacing is excellent, swapping POV to keep us engaged and build suspense, and friendships that get closer throughout as they try to save one of their own from their gruesome fate. It's well written, but I think I'll check out her NA stuff next time!๐Ÿซถ

I love Darcy Coates but this was okay. I wanted to like this book but it just wasn't worth the time reading and for an author that is good with horror, this just didn't hit her mark. It may have been too young for me and that is why I feel it didn't make the mark but either way it just wasn't creepy and at times was slow.

Rounded down from 2.5 because I felt like it just didnโ€™t deserve a 3. This is my second Darcy Coates book and both have taken a bit for me to get into. This one however kept losing my attention. I listen at work and I can usually pay attention to both work and whatever book/podcast Iโ€™m listening to. This one didnโ€™t do it. The more exciting parts I did catch and I still got the gist of it. Iโ€™ll still listen to at least one more of hers though because why not?

While it was an entertaining read, it didnโ€™t quite live up to my expectations. The story takes place in the eerie town of Doubtful, where a group of teens is trying to uncover the truth behind some gruesome murders connected to a legend called "The Stitcher." The suspense is definitely there, and the atmosphere is creepy, but it took a little while for me to really get invested.

The characters were okay, but I found myself wishing I knew more about themโ€”especially some of the side characters who felt a bit flat. The creepy lore about "The Stitcher" was unique, and I loved the idea, but I felt like the story could have gone deeper into it.

There were moments of real tension, but the pacing slowed down a lot in the middle, which made it hard to stay fully engaged. That said, the ending picked up and brought things to a satisfying conclusion.

Overall, itโ€™s a solid read if you like YA horror with a supernatural twist, but it didnโ€™t blow me away like I hoped it would. Definitely worth checking out if you enjoy creepy stories, but it wasnโ€™t a standout for me.
