4.5⭐️ this was definitely an interesting story and I haven’t read anything similar to it so I thoroughly enjoyed it even if it was predictable at times. the writing was good at invoking imagery and i LOVED the characters and dynamic of the jackrabbits! my only issue which is why i gave only 4.5⭐️ is because i think it’s dumb that the townspeople/police didn’t try burning the stitcher beforehand. especially considering the former cop said they tried “everything”. clearly not… lol i still enjoyed the ending tho. i’m glad Abby and Rhys realized how much they love each other and i ship Riya and Jen

Loved, loved, loved the author’s skill at building tension and painting unsettling imagery in the reader’s mind. I felt genuinely uneasy after some scenes—not the gory ones, although those were also creepy, but the “quiet horror” kinds of scenes that were clearly designed to do just that.

Cast was likable; the plot had several horror movie cliches and was predictable in places, but it was still a fun ride. It’s a story best approached as blind as possible, as I think even the GR summary gives away a bit too much.

I give this a solid 7.2! So enjoyable and had me scared AF like the I-don’t-want-my-limbs-dangling-off-the-bed-at-night kind of scared and if I-close-my-eyes-the-monsters-won’t-find-me kind of scared!

This gave me Stranger Things and It vibes where it’s a group of adolescents. But I loved their resilience and their understanding of each other and the rules they had to live by all their lives. They were mature and understandably so. As always, Darcy Coates weaved the tale and the characters so very well that the tapestry came out auspicious and lovely.

This adventure was scary, as I’ve said, but it was also a lesson in friendship. Whereas independence should be celebrated, so should your ability to open up to people and allow yourself to need and be needed. Because there’s a monster after you. And you need all the help you can get. lol. Jk. But not really.
