Well crafted and spooky, keeping you tense and guessing the whole time. The characters and town are fleshed out and you get immersed in them. Didn't want to put it down!

Creepy felt a bit long in the middle would have liked the pace to be a little bit faster.

I really liked the first half of the book. It has all the ingredients to be a 5 star read for me. Small town, group of teenagers and a supernatural horror element. I loved the atmosphere and setting. Unfortunately I feel like after 50% in, that the story lost it's pace. Also it didn't really hold up after the 'mystery' was revealed. Skimmed trough the last 100 pages because the action scenes didn't really keep me interested.

I enjoy Darcy Coates! Her writing is always phenomenal and creepy as hell. I believe this was her first YA book. It still had the fun twists and turns that Coates is known for, which I loved. I highly recommend if you are looking for a good YA horror book.

read this on the amtrak and was so freaked out i forced myself to stay awake to finish it

i didn't know this was YA when I picked it up, so it was a little under my reading level. the mystery was more straightforward and the horror was more based in fantasy than I typically go for. that being said, I loved all the characters and I was really rooting for the budding romances between them. i loved the worldbuilding featured at the climax of the story; the claustrophobia! my favorite part was actually the last twenty pages--what ends up happening to Vickers just tied the story of the Stitcher together so wonderfully, and I loved the visual of the red threads rising from the ground. i love when a book makes the setting/the town into a comprehensive character that receives development alongside its characters. very IT vibes.

I genuinely don't understand how people are saying this is YA - I am a grown woman and at points in this book I felt violently ill. It's a good book but I am concerned for the author - please don't read this if you're looking for a YA thriller
