Not one of Grisham's best works - this one kind of feels phoned-in. Not bad, and compellingly readable, but nothing to get too excited over, either.

John Grisham legal thriller - you know what you're getting. This time, the lawyer is also a priest and is working to exonerate wrongfully convicted prisoners. Suspenseful, no; enjoyable, sure. The same character types appear in the same small towns with the same crooked sheriffs and lazy judges and on the other side some good hearted folks, a few quick with a quip, and preternaturally skilled at their jobs.

I don’t think I read John Grisham before. Definitely the audiobook equivalent of a page turner. Will
Prob try a few more.

A good holiday read. It didn’t feel like much happened in this book compared to some of his others (my favourites include the early ones like A Time to Kill, The Firm and The Pelican Brief, and I was blown away recently by The Reckoning) so it was a mid-Grisham read for me. I think I enjoyed the familiar narrative style more than than the plot, especially while I was travelling and wanted something to while away the time.

This book was just okay for me. Back in the day, before I knew what entailed a well-written book, I really enjoyed Grisham’s writing. Well, yes, this story was interesting. Yes, our prisons house many innocent prisoners. Yes the prison system is broken. Yes, there are dirty cops and prison guards. But the writing was mediocre and the story was very predictable. Oh well....

Exactly what you would expect from Grisham.

A totally awesome read based on a real life true story. A man is wrongly convicted convicted of murder in a small Georgia town. This is a story about a lawyer who takes these cases to free the wrongly convicted. The cast of characters is is awesome, the intrigue is very catching and the story line will keep you spellbound for start to finish. Highly recommended !
