Seemed like Post got away quite easily considering the danger other characters had been in.

Interesting telling of a fictional story based loosely on true stories and characters.

Proibido falar mal de Cartada Final. Sujeito a paulada.

Having just watched the movie Just Mercy, I was struck at the similarities between the stories. It strikes me that 2 completely separate individuals (in real life) have dedicated their life to freeing falsely convicted men on Death Row, many of them put there solely by their race. If you only read two John Grisham books, this pairs well with "A Time to Kill," which is still my favorite of his novels.

Boy was this book a disappointment. I do NOT know how the collective brainpower of Goodreads readers could rate this a 4.26?!? This book was predictable, lacked action, and was a general bore (although it is better than "Mary Queen of Scotland and the Isles" so I will give Mr. Grisham his due.)

As I was reading this book, it seemed to me like Mr. Grisham read the excellent non-fiction book "Just Mercy," by Bryan Stevenson (here is a tip for you. Stop reading this review and go find "Just Mercy" and read it and you can thank me later. What a great book!, but I digress). So it seemed to me like Mr. Grisham read "Just Mercy" and said to himself, "Wow! What a great book. I will write a fiction book about an innocence lawyer." Now, I do not know that Mr. Grisham did this, but that's the way the book seems to me. Here is a helpful hint for you, Mr. Stevenson's non-fiction book is WAY better than Mr. Grisham's fiction book.

I was really hoping that Mr. Grisham had regained the power of his early books with this one, but was I ever disappointed. The plot dragged along slower than a snail trying to cross a busy sidewalk, the characters were so-s0, the narrative tension was lacking, and the action was almost completely non-existent. This book is mainly the main character interviewing other people about people he is trying to get out of prison because he thinks (rightly) that they are innocent.

Not a good read.
inspiring mysterious fast-paced

A good, fast paced read. Once finished, read the “Author’s notes”.

I liked the premise!!! There are so many innocent people in prison!!!

Grisham is always a fun read, but I especially liked this one and the message that it sends.
