I was so excited for this book. Meeting Kayla in the previous books, I knew she was a bad bitch who gave absolutely zero fucks and ran shit for the Kings.
Kayla has never depended on anyone. She grew up in a horrible household, having to practically raise her brother and protect him. He is the leader of a very powerful criminal organization, one that is completely above the small gangs like the Kings and NSC. And he’s not about to let Kayla get away with sending to prison. So what does he do? He weakens and breaks Kayla and forces her to marry him. Now, she has to depend on him and only him. He also promises her that Stockholm syndrome will absolutely be happening

I'll never be ready to say goodbye to this series, but I've also been counting down the days until Nate and Kayla's book, and it DID NOT disappoint.
Before I say anything else; if you do not like toxic relationships, manipulative anti-heros, noncon scenes (with body betrayal) and dark romances books with full page trigger warnings, this book is NOT for you. I'll say it again, if you hear the words "branding" and think anything other "ooh kinky" Nate White is not the book boyfriend for you.
But if you look at trigger warnings like trophies to collect, then push this right to the top of your tbr.
I still don't really have words for this book. It was the perfect ending to the Northshore Stories, set in our favourite gang lands with cameos from all our favourite characters. Nathan is the most unhinged man yet, and watching that psychopath fall in love with our badass, ruthless King Kayla brought me to my knees. Can’t recommend this book enough for my dark romance readers.
