This was, by far, the most boring Kasie West book I've read thus far.

The chemistry was non-existent, Cooper was a huge jackass, and Abby was just...well, she felt very pathetic. I couldn't get behind her infatuation with Cooper at all. He was so awful to her in so many different ways and it was just swept under the rug because he was...ahem...too scared of his feelings. It was stupid, and this revelation did nothing to excuse his overall dickheadedness. Cooper sucks. Abby deserves better...like Elliot. Just sayin'.

I felt like the whole thing with her dad was sort of swept under the rug a bit too quickly, too. This whole book just felt inauthentic and dumb. The only reason I really even finished it was because it was short and I wanted to try to squeeze in one more book before July was out. Ugh.

This calls for something drastic. Something like Operation: Kill the Comfort Zone.

I love Kasie West books— but honestly, this book (and it’s sequel) were not my favorites. The characters felt a bit shallow and it was more character relationship focused than having a strong plot.

Abby loves to paint, but her art is missing something. She makes a list of things to do to make her grow as a person. Of course she does those things together with her best friend. I like the concept and thought the story was cute.

While I understood the point to this story- I definitely became frustrated with the main characters. So frustrated I was literally growning while listening to the audiobook.

“Art is subjective, that’s what makes it great,” I said. “We each get to love or hate something on our own terms.”

This book was just what I needed! It's delightfully cute and sweet, exactly what I love about Kasie West books. I also love it when a heroine in a romance book doesn't let love be the only thing important to her. Abby has a passion for painting, and it was a very important part of her story.

There’s a scene in “Addams Family Values” where Morticia is reading “The Cat in the Hat” to baby Pubert, and she flips to the end and says, in quiet, lovely despair, “Oh no. He lives.”

And that was pretty much my reaction when I got to the end of this book and realized the author was hellbent on undoing any character growth Abby might have achieved by having her end up with that douchebag. (I really had my fingers crossed that she wouldn’t end up with anyone. Oh well.)

Headcanon is they break up in college.

3.5 This was pretty cute--I have to admit. I haven't read a fluffy, young adult contemporary in a while. There were some cheesy moments, but overall it was sweet and makes you believe the world might not be a completely awful place. Maybe.

I wasn't sure if I was going to like this story line much once I read the first few pages but I honestly fell in love with it. Th character development was so well written and of course like all of Kasie West's books it just flowed so nicely and I couldn't put it down. I also love that she actually dealt with the fact that there were issues wit her parents and mental illness ext.. and it wasn't just blown over.
