Out of date but principles of social media still apply.

This is a "must read" for anyone who does or is planning to use social media for their business or even personal brand. By illustrating his points with clear case studies, Gary Vee does an excellent job of showing us where some brands have gone wrong and how we can all learn from their mistakes. I've been involved in social media for a very long time and there have been cases where I've seen something that just didn't seem quite right but I couldn't put my finger on what the problem was. Gary does that. He notices the nuances and subtleties in social media that can make the difference between a WIN or a FAIL. Before you go pouring your money down a bunch of marketing funnels and falling for a bunch of programs that promise overnight success, just spend a few bucks on Gary's books.

I was loaned this book as I've no formal background in marketing and my boss thought it'd be a good starting point, and it is a good starting point...just not for someone who already has some experience and have attended several other similar talks. As another reviewer MissUnderstoodGenius has put it, Vaynerchuk "makes some very good (and obvious) points, [though] anyone that has experience in the space will find them elementary".

I'm also not a fan of how long-winded/rambly the narrative gets. It might sound great when spoken but when reading? The overflowing amount of examples for just about every single point is just redundant and I can't help but wish this book is what it's trying to teach others: Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook.

This is an excellent book about marketing right on social media. The author does a fantastic job of explaining what works and what doesn't with actual examples of social media jabs and right hooks.
We have gleaned so much information from this book about marketing our business and personal accounts. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to make a statement on social media with their business.

It’s a little dated. I only got nuggets out of the Pinterest, FB, Twitter sections of the book. His predictions for where we would be now are quite funny though. I would say worth the read if you got the book for free! He needs to update it - he has some good content on his social media if you can sift through all the other sports stuff lol

This book goes into the details of the major social media platforms with practical tips on how to get noticed on each of them, with lots of examples of good and bad practices. It's hard to write a book on social media that remains current, because of how quickly things change, but the theories in this book will likely hold true even as platforms shift and change.

Excellent book.

Excellent premise and very strong support of that premise. Beautiful book. A little repetitive in the case study section. That does serve to illustrate the premise, though, so it kind of works for the circumstance.

I would recommend the opening section of this book to anyone. The perspective focuses on social media, but it truthfully illustrates how the world works (especially as impacted by the increasing importance of platforms and web behavior).
