So much excitement! Love that Tanjiro keeps going, only well.. his will his bigger than his body. I loved Nezuko and her transformation, oh no, RIP that demon, I actually felt a bit sorry for them. And then even more fighting, more excitement, this volume was just one rollercoaster and I cannot wait to read the next one to see how everything will end! EEP!

The only complaint I have for this volume is that the opening pages (after the flashback) is a little confusing. Basically, in the time that Uzui took down the obis, they manages to escape, but readers didn't see them escape and when Inosuke says they escaped, Uzui berates Inosuke and praises his wives for saving the captives, but that didn't really have anything to do with the obis escaping. I get that the take-away from this exchange is that a). the obis escaped and b). Uzui's really proud of his wives, it just wasn't told or shown well and it felt kind of unnatural. It's not enough to dock too many points because, like I said, I understand the information being relayed, but it felt rushed and unnatural. Okay, moving on to the fun stuff!

It broke my heart seeing Nezuko become more demonic, but her powers are so fucking dope and seeing her kick the shit out of that demon was THE BEST! Also, Tanjiro singing her a lullaby to calm her down was so damn sweet and cute and it made my heart swell! The Hinokami Kagura is so fucking cool, but I'm curious as to whether Tanjiro is fusing it with water breathing techniques, only because the spiral technique he used looked a lot like the water wheel breathing technique, but I guess only time will tell.

I'm glad we got some backstory on Uzui, especially in relation to his family. Family is the primary theme in this series, and since we've seen other Hashira members with their families, I was curious about his. My favorite part was when he mentioned how he didn't want to be like his brother, who was cold, heartless, and considered his wife only good for making children. It reinforces the idea that despite his arrogance, bossiness, and abrasive personality, he's a genuinely good person and knows what he wants and how to treat others. However, real quick, *hands clasped in prayer* Gotouge, for the love of all that is fucking holy and good in this world, PLEASE DON'T KILL UZUI!! I really do love this character now and I want to see more of him, so please, PLEASE don't kill him!!!

On a side note, I love how unfathomably few fucks Gotouge seems to give about explaining how Inosuke speaks human language fluently. Not only was that side story super short, it really did look like it was just there to explain how he knows human language and that's it. I fucking loved it, thank you Gotouge.

Anyway, this was a great volume and I'm so curious to see where the story goes from here. I just wish I didn't have to wait so long!

“WHAT IS IT
THAT MAKES
LIFE INTER-
ESTING?”

“WHAT DO
YOU THINK
LIFE IS?”

This volume is just a fight, but that is not a bad thing at all when the action is this good. We get the full character stories for our current villains, Daki and her brother, Gyutaro, and honestly the backstory for them makes this arcs one of the best in the entire series. The desire and drive for Tanjiro to emerge victorious is on full display here, and the team work between all the Demon Slayers is so satisfying.
