A most beautiful and aesthetically pleasing book.
Not quite complete as it lacks The Two Noble Kinsmen.

We had this book in our family home's library -yes we used to have a library, filled with leather-bound books from the classics (Odyssey, Shakespeare plays, Jane Austens, etc)to think marketing, management, accounting and law books.

*My grandfather was a CPA Lawyer*

I always looked at how THICK this book was and who would ever read them! It had those onion skin sort of paper. really thin and fragile, and it's HEAVY.

College theater, we were asked to do a collection of Monologues and Solilloquies of Shakespeare's Tragedies. I had to play poor old Ophelia. And this book, saved me and had me reading MORE plays.

I've always enjoyed Shakespeare, but more on the screen or on the stage - not to read. but being on stage, in the theater for 3 months, made me love this book.

Thank you Mary :D

So far, Antony and Cleopatra is awesome-- I laugh a lot. Shakespeare is witty, damn.

My most treasured book. This is the one book I travel with (paperback edition of course). To have all those plays and sonnets at your fingertips, it's utterly fantastic.

Grew up with Norton. Spent decades with Riverside. Convenient to have the Kindle edition. Now diving into the Oxford.

I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. I read it for a literature class, and found myself liking most of the Shakespeare plays. I had read the sonnets before, but only a handful of plays. Twelfth Night was probably my favorite, and I really liked Viola. But I also found myself understanding why Hamlet is still so popular, and why so many of Shakespeare's work get translated into modern movie adaptations. I am still not the biggest fan of Othello though.

I didn't actually finish reading this. This goes under my DNF category, but I had to put a "read" date. I put the date I decided I couldn't read this anymore, which was March 18th 2022. I almost got completely finished with King Richard the Third, and I just couldn't slog through it anymore. Maybe one day I'll pick it back up.
