This book series is the very first book I've read that wasn't a school book when I was probably 10 years old? Ironically, this was not very ten years old friendly but my mom didn't stop me when she saw me reading this so... It didn't influence me to shop and do risky stuff with boys back then so all is good, thinking about it now.
Reading it now as an adult is sort of reflective in a way that I understand where Becky is coming from. Having my own money and the itch to spend it and not think about the future is very relatable. Becky is a character that is very.......unique. As a delulu girlie, she's very understandable but at some point, it's really crossing the line. Her imagination is so wild that even I can't keep up. Fortunately, everything worked in the end so good for her!
Thoroughly entertaining and so funny! Absolutely nothing like the movie which was a mental adjustment but did not impact at all i loved the book way more than the movie! also its not a romance which one again i was shocked about because if the movie

1° libro della serie I love shopping
4 stelline e mezze più che meritate per questo libro divertentissimo della Kinsella (speriamo che si decidano davvero a inserire i mezzi punti).
Una rilettura che è stata come la prima volta: divertente, allegra e frizzante! A volte anche un pò demente diciamolo, ma è uno spasso!
Se non ricordo male il massimo della demenza arriva nel 3° volume, ma siccome sono passati 2 anni dall'ultima volta che li ho letti, voglio esserne sicura rileggendoli.
Che dire! Becky è troppo simpatica e Luke...mi Dio, Luke! Il Luke del libro è stupendo: affascinante, intelligente, misterioso, ricco e non si fa problemi a spendere il denaro! Non per niente l'ha portata al Ritz per il primo appuntamento, non dimentichiamocelo! Per quanto riguarda la trasposizione cinematografica...che orrore! A parte che hanno cambiato la storia, ma vabbè lo fanno quasi sempre, ma io odio chi ha scelto l'attore che fa la parte di Luke...ma cos'è?!?! Sarà carino, ma Luke non è carino, è bellissimo! Sembra un uomo spaventato pronto a farsi mangiare in un boccone dalle donne, su! Luke non è così, quell'uomo...è un UOMO, porca miseria!!! (scusate lo sfogo, ma come si fa?! -__-") Però Isla Fisher mi è piaciuta molto. Questa "incarnazione" di una Becky rossiccia ma che è bellissima è perfetta!
Ora non mi resta altro che continuare a leggere il resto e una cosa è certa: come la Kinsella in giro non ce ne sono e le imitazioni infuriano!

I have wanted to read this book since my undergrad and just never got a chance to read it. I read it because it was once of the first "want to reads" I put in my Goodreads account. Unfortunately, it was a book I should have read in my youth. It is SO similar in its whiny-ness to all of the garbage female-protagonist movies of the 90s (e.g. Bridget Jones's stuff).
I gave the book two stars instead of one because the protagonist realized she was a total douche in the last few chapters of the book, and learned a few major life lessons.

Dit boek las ik voor de tweede keer. En hij was net zo leuk als de eerste keer. Het was al een tijdje geleden dat ik hem had gelezen. De film had ik overigens nog wel met regelmaat gezien en het viel me op dat daar een hoop dingen uit het verhaal verdraait zijn met het boek. Toch was het een feest van herkenning. Op naar het volgende deel.
