god I hate science
Science is so hard until it’s very very very dumbed down. There was a lot of science in this book discovering and understanding genetics and I probably was able to take away two things but whatever, it’s fine. The story itself was....................interesting. I’m not a parent, so I was just stressed the entire time by what Paige assumed was her right just bc she’s a mom and that just rubbed me the wrong way while also giving her credit. Until she started blubbering like a baby to be the victim. no no sweetie

Thoroughly enjoyed
This book made me laugh and cry. I found the story kept me wanting to read more. Thought the topic of genetics was a nice change.

Julie Clark's first book is wonderful- I look forward to her next book! This book is a short read but covers a lot of ground. A few (forgivable) coincidences and predictable plot twists allow the author to delve deeply into the emotions of both a little boy and his scientific-minded mother with insights for all of us about how we view our identity.

It wasn't boring per-say but I started it from scratch alot of times because I always got busy with something. Trying to read it became a hassle and so I made a decision to drop it.

Loved all the genetics tidbits throughout. A book that teaches me something and makes me curious to learn more is a winner to me. This was an easy read, fast paced, held my interest. Not unbelievably mind blowing, but it did get me thinking/talking and I'd recommend.

such a cute book! i learned so many interesting facts about genetics; this book was very well researched. Paige and Miles' story was a complicated one, but also a great one. i wouldn't mind a sequel!

This is a complete departure from the Julie Clark books I've read, and it really speaks to her versatility as an author. The waas an emotional read with thoughtfully incorporated scientific information that related to the plot, while also being educational. Still, people who are intimidated by overly scientific stories will find this one absolutely accessible. It also has a little bit of everything: romance, grief, tension, motherhood, friendship, self-healing, etc. Readers who an enjoy a well-rounded, emotional read should definitely pick this one up!
