I don’t think I realized I’ve only read romantasy novels, because this book was a classic fantasy and I LOVED it. Gods, war games, advanced technology … I’m so glad I discovered this series after they’ve all been published because I have a feeling I’m going to dive in without coming up for a breath.

Came into this book blind and left it fully immersed. I cried twice reading this book and have also been thankful that the song mentioned in the book has been published by an independent artist so you can experience the haunting sounds and absorb the true emotion behind it. Red Rising is for the people who loved hunger games but needed more, for the people that want to understand how war is controlled and see all its moving parts-from inception, to the political and financial manipulations to its very downfall. The language in this book isn't crazy difficult, but it does have a tone and an ambience that could strike the common conversationalist as confusing. Nonetheless, Pierce Brown came into this idea and fully threw up an entertaining and gut wrenching story that leaves you inspired and doubtful, scared and courageous and confused but also proud and confidence. It is a true form of what solidarity csn look like from certain groups and how removing the vail of different classes can start to teach us about them as much as us and what it might mean to unite people. Loved this book. Id read it again.
