Ah shame man, I really wanted poor Abby to get her happily ever after. All the drama she went through with ex, she deserved it. And boy did she get the best one☺️

I loved Nick. He was an awesome dad to his little girl. And he was hot and dedicated to make a life for his daughter. I was so sad that he had to do this all in his own.

But meeting Abby was just the right person and the right time. Even when he wasn't ready to dona relationship from the minute he met Abby he was hooked.

I loved their story. Each one of them had their own hangups. Abby felt used and all she wanted was someone to see her for who she was, sweet, adorable, bookish loves kids. And Nick didn't feel he was ready to move on and he needed to focus on football to take care of his dad and his daughter.

I loved that they found each other and they were perfect. Nick loved Abby for the person she was. And Abby loved Nick because he was dedicated and loyal to the people he cared about

I honestly don’t know where to start this book touched something in me!

I fell in love with Lex’s writings style forever ago but this book just makes me love it even more. I literally laughed, sobbed, and everything in between.

You know when you are reading a book but you can picture it in your head like a movie that’s what reading this book was like for me.

Nick and Abigail’s story was soo unique when they met cause Abigail ran into Nicks car he was for sure not gonna hire her for the Nanny position he posted for his daughter flash forward she climbs into his window and flashes him on accident and then he wanted her for the job(well there was more too it you’ll just have to read to find out)

I fell in love with Abigail’s dorkiness and her funny banter!

5/5✨

I absolutely loved Blindside Beauty! It has a bit of everything - close proximity, nanny, grumpy single dad, adorable little girl, accident prone book loving girl, and quarterback stud. Nick and Abby have a few accidental run ins and then when one turns into a scary situation, now Abby is a nanny for Nick’s adorable little girl. However, life keeps Abby on her toes and now she is a live in nanny. These two just scream angst, the chemistry is there, but these two try everything to avoid each other. When they are constantly around each other and they start to see each other in a different light, can they ignore their connection anymore or will these two give in and see what happens? Nick and Abby will steal your heart in this emotional rollercoaster that will have you devouring this book to see if these two can let go of their past and try to build a future together or will the hurt be too much for them to move on from. I loved this book and all the characters we’ve met through this series, they have a special place in my reader’s heart!

I am so sad the Varsity Dads series is coming to an end! These have been such a joy to read, and we end on a wonderful note with Nick and Abby's story.

Abby has a terrible history with football players. Her ex-fiance was unfaithful to her, to put it nicely. She is studying early education and trying to finish her degree while waitressing . A nanny job pops up that would pay more than her waitressing gig, so she applies, even though it's for the QB who replaced her ex.

Nick is a transfer QB who is a single-dad to Hazel. His girlfriend died in a car accident, and he's desperate to go professional to provide a better life for this daughter. He moves into a house in a safe neighborhood and needs to hire a nanny. He does NOT hire Abby, as she recently backed into his car. But the nanny he does end up hiring isn't great, and after Abby displays a bit of heroics, he ends up hiring Abby.

But Abby has been burned by a football player, is now employed by Nick, and these two have the worst communication skills ever. Can they make it work and find their Happily Ever After?

This was a great relationship to watch build and develop, and was a fantastic ending to the series. I can't want to see what Lex does next!

As always, YMMV.

In Lex Martin’s Blindside Beauty (Varsity Dads #6), the lives of college students, Abigail, and Nick Silva, a talented football player, seem fated to collide because their paths keep crossing–she interviews to be his four-year-old daughter’s nanny but doesn’t get the job, after accidentally backing into his bumper. The single dad and daughter move in next door to Abigail and her roommate. Abigail jeopardizes her life by breaking into his window to rescue his daughter when the nanny gets locked out, which changes his mind about her. She becomes the new nanny. With the intense, fiery attraction flaring between them and the connection deepening each moment spent together, can she guard against being blindsided by the single-dad quarterback?

Martin’s deft characterizations of Nick, Abigail, and the secondary characters, who are relatable, likable, complex, fallible, and messy, drew me into this angsty, steamy romance. They each had distinct voices and personalities in this story told through Nick and Abigail’s dual, first-person POVs. She drew me into the characters’ lives, making me care about them and their dreams. I really like Abigail. Nick had to grow on me, because his control issues and his judgmental treatment of Abigail put me off. His daughter is adorable.

Abigail is a sweet, kind, clumsy, nerdy, hopeless romantic, bookworm, studying to be a teacher. Her internal dialogue is fascinating and funny. She can’t seem to catch a break, going from one chaotic mishap to another. But also, she doesn’t have much luck with men. Her football player ex cheated on her and broke her heart. Now, she’s determined to avoid jocks—especially football players—because she doesn’t want to get hurt again.

Anxious, protective, burdened by the past, and overwhelmed, Nick is a grumpy single parent raising his daughter. He’s still grieving his girlfriend, Hazel’s mother. Nick focuses on making it into the NFL to secure his career to provide for Hazel. His last year of school is his last chance to make the NFL. Having a nanny will help him stay focused on football without worrying she’s safe.

I love Abigail and Nick’s relationship, their scenes talking and getting to know each other, and their extremely steamy intimate scenes when they let down their guard with each other. They form a connection almost immediately and try to ignore and resist it and their intense and fiery sexual attraction. When they’re in forced proximity, it’s more difficult, and they give in, agreeing to a casual relationship. Martin transitions their professional relationship to friends, then to lovers with emotional, sweet, funny interactions. Nick and Abigail’s intimate moments feature sexy banter and steamy and emotional love scenes. They balance one another, providing what’s been missing from their lives. Abigail experiences authentic passion and being wanted for herself. Nick finds peace with Abigail. They encourage and support each other’s dreams and help each other heal. Though, Nick has a way to go still.

Martin’s exploration of life as a young, single father in college pursuing a football career is absorbing. Nick has other problems because of losing his girlfriend and daughter’s mother the way he did. Martin tackles the lingering mental and emotional aftereffects with sensitivity.

The scenes focusing on the friendships and relationships between Nick and his teammates, and Abigail and her friends, are among my favorites. I like how supportive and affirming Roxy, Paige, and Baylee are of Abigail and how they all are for each other. While entertaining, they also reveal and help evolve Abigail and Nick’s characters, and serve to further the plot. Their friend groups and Nick’s team and coach are supportive and encouraging of Nick with balancing fatherhood and football. Parental relationships also contribute to their character development.

Martin explores important issues with sensitivity and nuance within Blindside Beauty, including grief/loss, sexism, how men use women to bolster their egos, infidelity, the struggles of caring for young children, mental health, insecurity, and lack of self-confidence.

Though it includes surprising and tightly written suspense scenes that keep you on the edge of your seat, the novel’s pacing lags. Blindside Beauty is a sweet, steamy, funny, sexy, melancholy romance perfect for grumpy x sunshine, nanny x single dad, close-proximity, enemies-to-lovers, opposites attract, college football, new adult, steamy, angsty, and small-town romance fans.
