This wasn’t quite a four for me. The pacing felt off. There were breadcrumbs that weren’t addressed to the very end. Instead of building excitement, I felt like the characters had a shallow connection, since they didn’t know these things about each other.

Dare I say this book was better than the first?

Yeah, it was. It was so much more thrilling thanks to Tess’ past/present. I enjoyed that part the most, especially at the end when she showed him who’s the boss.
But despite it being a more exciting read, it was too long imo and most parts got boring.

LOVED IT - puppy Ryan and confident, experimental Tess are such a great combination, their chemistry was amazing!! Loved how he discovered new things with her, the whole found family aspect was lovely to read and the lil bits about Poppy made me look forward to book 3!
