After thriving through six entire books and 90% of a seventh, he didn't deserve the meaningless death he was given. They did my favorite character dirty for real.

Forged in blood should have been one book. It was too action-focused for me and so I lost my interest a little bit. Edited down, I would have enjoyed it more.

I am uncertain if I am going to give this book a 3 star of 4 star review.

4 because I like the series very much. Overall, it was an ending that I was expecting but the events that led to it are unexpected

3 because I did not quite enjoy the last book much as the others. I was trying to run through of the events in the book and trying to pin point what left a bad taste in my mouth.
1. Was the series to long?
2. Was it because there we too many things happening all at the same time?
3. dispointing ending for the antagonist?

Well, I aam giving it a 3 since the this is a review for the book not the overall series

Cheers!

not enough Malydonado
tiny bit too much woe is me at the start (though thankfully this was only the first 10% of the book)

the conclusion to the story is nice and tight

really enjoyed it

What a finale! I followed this series of seven since book 1 ([b:The Emperor's Edge|10031259|The Emperor's Edge (The Emperor's Edge #1)|Lindsay Buroker|http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1327954140s/10031259.jpg|14926833]) and if you like action, adventure, humor, intriguing (and developing!) characters in a detailed world with unique steampunk/scifi flavor, these are your books!
I especially liked how the two book finale ([b:Forged in Blood I|15989176|Forged in Blood I (The Emperor's Edge, #6)|Lindsay Buroker|http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1368997250s/15989176.jpg|21744579] and II) touched on most if not all the important plot-defining tropes from the previous installments (and even the short stories in between them). A fulfilling closure for a breathtaking ride of seven books with just enough sadness filled in to avoid any sticky sappiness feeling from marring the experience. I seldom use the words "perfect" for a book series, but [b:The Emperor's Edge|10031259|The Emperor's Edge (The Emperor's Edge #1)|Lindsay Buroker|http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1327954140s/10031259.jpg|14926833] series deserves it. Perfect!

The grand finale....the fat lady sang...it's over...fin.

I LOVE THIS!

I am still mulling over the events of this book so I can't get everything down I want to right now...I'll have to come back and write a more thorough review when I've recuperated :)

What an ending..
4.5 stars, deduction of half a star only due to a certain happening..

I knew it was going to be a great last instalment! :D

And ohh the Epilogue..

Need I say more..

I think a lot of what has been hinted throughout the books comes to a good conclusion. I was caught a bit of guard at a certain 'event' at the end and was still waiting for it to be some grand scheme.. I can not give to much away here but needless to say it was not, and I got a slightly depressed. It took away from the grandiose 'Happily ever after', that surely would have made me even more ecstatic if not for that little bomb dropping..

Okay, so apart from that little explosive thrown on my brain, I highly recommend this series to anyone that enjoys a good action packed fantasy steampunk series.. Yes there where certainly moments where I got a bit distracted and had to concentrate to get back into it, but I finished all 7 instalments after one another without reading other books as'breaks'.. that in itself is a awesome feat!

Whhyyyyyyyy
did Books have to die? :(
Lots of excitement, some more character development, emotional moments and great writing to get you through it all. Loved reading more from Sicarius's viewpoint.
9/10 for this one!
