The final book in the Emperor's Edge series was just as much fun to read as all the others have been. These books have engrossed me in a way that is pretty rare and they are just a joy to read. This one has a daunting task in wrapping up all the plot threads of the series and giving the characters satisfying ends.

I think it succeeds at the latter better than the former. I'm left feeling good about where all the characters end up, even though the ending is bittersweet. As for the plot, I felt the resolution of the civil war was really sudden and rushed, which is the only reason this one gets a 4 star instead of a 5. My reaction was pretty much, "It's over??"

I'm very much looking forward to reading the entire series as a whole to get a better sense of the pacing and also just because I enjoy it so much.

Lindsay Buroker has brought the Emperor's Edge saga to a hope filled end mixed with a bittersweet memory of how much it cost her characters to reach this point.

A very satisfying ending to the Emperor's Edge series. I laughed. I cried. I'm still soaking it all in, but I think everything ended as it should. I desperately hope this isn't the last we'll see of these characters. I have already imagined all the new adventures (or misadventures) they could have. This series is one of my favorites. I can reread any of the books and never tire of them. I look forward to new stories from Ms. Buroker!

Brilliant

I've loved every minute of this series. Love the exploration of nature vs nurture, economic and political systems, and the growth of the characters over the course of the series. The ending made me really happy. Thank you Lindsay.

The grand finale....the fat lady sang...it's over...fin.

I LOVE THIS!

I am still mulling over the events of this book so I can't get everything down I want to right now...I'll have to come back and write a more thorough review when I've recuperated :)

3/1/18: It was definitely a satisfying end to the series, but I will say that I'm not unhappy that there will be more.

Again, there are high prices to pay, but in the end, it's not about the fame, or even setting things right, but about living on in the memories of those you love and love you.

WOW!!! This book seemed like it was the finale or the storyline for the first six books. Everything culminated into a finale with the team being pardoned and no longer outlaws. It was sad to see the team lose an integral member of the team but most of the members seem to have obtained some sort of HEA - sort of. I guess will see if that's true with the next book.
