interesting story though the feeling of the narrative was possibly too consistent, causing for very little to stand out unless i all ready had an interest in the subject (disease, metaphors abt colonialism, etc). knowing that it is about turning englands imperialism against it made me like it more. i think the thing abt the radio play is funny. absolutely no interest in writing a paper about it and yet i must.

This wasn’t what I expected after hearing about the panic that ensued after it was read on the radio without the public being informed that what they were hearing was fiction. It was less terrifying than I expected. I think it’s antiquated setting lessened the horror for me. Still, it was a pretty fun read, and it was really cool to recognize so much of modern sci-fi originating with the ideas found in this book. I listened to it while doing art projects and cleaning, and it made great background accompaniment.

If you like sci-fi, this is definitely worth a read, if for no other reason than to get aquatinted with some of the first writing in the genre.
