Was very boring, not worth the read

This book is CAPTIVATING to say the least. . the twists and turns of the plot line will leave you on the edge of your seat, biting your finger nails! the smooth writing will have you burning through the pages like a wildfire... with an ending that will leave you gratefully satisfied.

What. A. Drag.
Not to mention painful writing, including this amazing quote: "Then White, who was really black, stepped into his house. "

The book started out promising with a couple getting lost and running into a crazy lawman but then it just kind of goes down hill from there. Their journey through this "haunted" house with a serial killer after them was snooze worthy. I was expecting to be on the edge of my seat and have trouble sleeping after reading it but found myself falling asleep while reading it. I normally like books by this author but this wasn't very good in my opinion.

Leer esto fue como ser un niño a las 2 pm un domingo de verano sin ventilador: aburrido, tedioso y eterno.

I usually don't read books like this, but once I started reading it, I was hooked. I couldn't put it down. I took it all over the house when my mom was yelling at me to do chores. It scared me to death; and I loved it!!

Oh how I wish this book would have been better. I was excited to find a Christian fiction, suspense, thriller book. But…… everything about the book was subpar. The story line was weird - and unbelievable. I finished it, hoping it would get better. But it never did.

The only thing that gave this 2 stars vs 1 is that allegory it represents.

I probably finished at least 80% of this book before I decided that I loved myself too much to keep torturing myself by forcing myself to finish it. I used to have this thing were I had to force myself to finish books before reviewing them but I didn't finish this book, nor will I attempt to. when I first started it, the premise seemed so promising, even more so because it was written by two "master" writers for the genre type (though not that you can tell from this disaster). yep, this book goes under disaster. The characters were such a jumbled mess as well as the house setting. Honestly there was no plot for such a huge portion of this book other than strangers fighting and being shady of one another. The only reason I read ad much of it as I did was because I was hoping the ending would be salvable, but according to many of these reviews I made a smart decision in not continuing.

I think this book would have been better if I would have read it instead of listen to it! The storyline was really good though.
