A great read

This is a great start to a new series and a fantastic intro to a new-for-me author. Freya is returning to the small town home she ran away from when she was 18 to discover the consequences of her absence weren’t what she expected. There are a lot of hard conversations to be had - none more so than with her ex-boyfriend who is now engaged to the woman who tried to break them up.

I liked how real the emotions were. Even though some of the decisions the characters made were bad, the pain and conflict they felt was genuine and was written so well. The emotions were messy and complex, just like real life. The book also introduced a cast of characters that have their own stories to tell - this small town isn’t done with us yet.

This is a new author to me and I got this as an ARC for an honest review.

Let me start by saying that I was hooked right away!! Her writing and the going back to the flashbacks, I just LOVED!

The love between Max and Freya was simply stunning. My heart broke with them and it hit me with all the feels!
I hated Max at times but I knew why he said and acted the way he did, not saying I liked it one bit but he won me over again lol.

Freya, my badass little lady! She put on such a brave tough act but I knew how she always saw herself and it hurt me to see he like that. I don’t like how she ran away but I am happy she did cuz it helped her find herself and her worth!

This will definitely be a new author for me to continue to read!!

This was a cute, fast read. Girl and boy are high school sweethearts. Everyone in town knows they are together and meant to be. Heroes parents don't like heroine because her family's past. Then the heroine leaves town abruptly without a word to anyone. Years later she is back in town and her high school sweetheart is about to marry one of her high school bullies. Until he sees her and all feelings come rushing back. The story was cute, the side characters were great and the main characters had chemistry. I will continue the series to see what happens with some of the side characters.

It's Not Home Without You is the first book within the Homecoming series. It honestly took me a while to find my groove with this one. Once everything clicked, man - I was hooked. Especially towards the end when everything falls into place.

The questions and second chance at romance were entertaining for the most part. It also didn't hurt that I liked the characters either. Sure, I rolled my eyes at them for the most part and was annoyed when certain people acted a certain way towards others. I still somehow ended up enjoying this book and look forward to the next one. Whenever I find the time to eventually jump into it.

If I could change one thing, it would be to have better communication between the characters. Seriously, everything would have been resolved way sooner if these two actually talked to one another about their damn feelings.

Won’t rate because I skipped to like 80% where the “groveling” started
No grovel
She ran to him I like when the hero is the pursuer.
The way overused MC in an accident trope not done well either.
1star for the 20-30% I read but will not officially rate. I have a feeling reading the first half woulda kept my stars low.

This is a beautiful well written second chance romance that would melt your heart and it will wake you up many emotions.. The author did a pretty good job in this debut novel. You're gonna laugh, but feel angsty also. Main characters are likable, including the secondary ones. In this small town romance you could find some drama, steamy scenes, the beautiful story of the first love, how they split and found each other again. With a happy ending. If you like second chances you will love this one and will not dissappoint you.

Again, this was a new to me author. I've been trying to read new authors to me to further authors i can pick from and this one was and now im dying for the next few books she has planned in the series! I love Max but so hated his family for the most part. They were so mean and judging of people they felt beneath them. Rude people. Freya, god, she just was trying to do what she felt was right. But in the end things she didnt let that stop her from what she wanted and i loved it. I cant wait to read more from this author.

I liked the writing style and this was so easy to read. I also loved the side characters. But I was not obsessed with the main characters.
