Review:

Hoped that there was more romance

---------------------------------------------
Review previously placed on my blog:

I have read That blue sky feeling Volume 2 by Okura. This is the second book in the That blue sky feeling series. Read an owned copy. Read this for my Series TBR and for a buddy read. This is a romance manga with LGBTQ+ characters.

The beginning of this one was not the best. Was scared it wasn't going to be good. But fortunately it got better and I really enjoyed the story. Still disliked the homophobia, but it is what it is. I had also hoped for more romance, since there hasn't been any yet. So that genre is sort of a spoiler for this series. Excited to finish the series with the last volume.

oh no a rival and this one is openly gay and honest with his feelings, not like our hero who has a stick up his ass

August 2022. BL manga about coming of age and realizing you’re falling for your friends.

This is a sweet high school story, with our gregarious main character desperately seeking the friendship of a quiet, friendless classmate rumored to be gay.
It deals with homophobia quite a bit and the characters feel realistically flawed in not always knowing the right thing to say or the right way to act.

Looking forward to getting volume 3 from the library soon. It’s by Okura, the mangaka known for his more recent and ongoing series, “I Think Our Son is Gay,” which I love. While this one isn’t quite the 5 star perfection of that series, it feels personal and real and it’s lovely to see that type of narrator from a gay man, as opposed to the cute or less realistic boy’s love stories often written by women (though I’ve enjoyed plenty).

Got volumes 1-2 from sac library, have a hold on the 3rd (final volume) and hope to get it to read soon. Recommend.

This was another enjoyable volume! It follows the ups and downs of navigating relationships, attraction, and the awkwardness that falls in between. Cute and a fun overall and I loved how one of the characters introduced during this volume really sets up for some fun situations and developments. It rather drives the plot and relationship between Noshiro and Sanada to be faced head on!

Still very cute and sweet, while at the same time actually giving a more-or-less realistic depiction of high school and sexuality. Still prevented from being 4 stars because of the creepy 26 year old ex.

I like the examinations of different kinds of “like”. Still want the best for everyone. Morinaga is so cute.
