Rhik writes wonderfully — with acute self-awareness of his depression. He writes with a sensitivity that could both move me to tears and make me guffaw at unexpectedly humorous bits.

A raw deep look at depression, child abuse, parental relationships, grief, connection, relationships and more. At times, I found samadders jokes unnecessary but I appreciate he was trying to lighten the tone. Overall a worthwhile memoir

My grandmothers like "you'll just GET this book". I dont know if that's a compliment or a back handed compliment.
Listening to someone elses bad mental health. It's funny and entertaining, even when its saying outrageous things.

For some reason it took me a long time to get through but I did enjoy it a lot. I'd say this is the best portrayal of sexual trauma and eating disorders I've ever read. I tend to steer well clear of those topics because it's too difficult to read for me, but Rhik Samadder tackled them so sensitively and warmly and really normalised the whole experience. It might be cliche to say, but I think he's so brave to come out about what he's been through. I do feel like some of what he said was a bit pretentious and the humour seemed forced at times.
