This was great! It was really fun to see the characters again. The art style is simple, but attractive.
I like that we get to follow Iko, because she's awesome, but also because we can see how androids are treated so poorly. Meyer further explores the discrimination and prejudices against androids.
In addition, the war didn't miraculously solve everything. There are problems; there is still some tension and distrust between the lunars and earthens. The politics in this novel was very interesting.

One thing I didn't like was the hinting at a hate to lovers romance between Iko and Kinney. Here's the thing, everyone in the lunar chronicles is coupled together. The relationships are great, imo, but its still unrealistic and annoying, especially since among all the couples, there is no lgbtq+ rep at all.
The coupling up thing doesn't ruin the series for me, but in Wires and Nerves, Iko is also being pushed together with a guy, and sadly that guy is Kinney. Kinney is absolutely horrible to Iko. He insults her, objectifies her and is just a piece of trash to her. I mean, he tells her that she's as shallow and manipulative as Levana!!!!! I hate him and I don't understand how Iko could be with him. She deserves better. And why do the rest of the rampion crew put up with him acting that way towards their friend?? Okay, rant over. I guess im a little curious to see how he's going to redeem himself.

Another really small thing was the illustration on page 224. It depicts the rampion crew eating cake, and I assume it's a memory of the event at the end of Winter. In the picture, Iko has her old pear-shaped body, and yet Iko got her escord-droid body during Cress?

Nevertheless, I really enjoyed this graphic novel installment.

Used to love this series as a kid but this one just wasn’t it. Not as much girlbossing as the original series and the graphics reenforced conventional beauty standards a bit too much for my liking.

I really enjoy Iko's character. This gives a great look into everyone's lives post revolution and how they are all contributing to the world now that Cinder sits on the Lunar throne. And honestly? Cinder wanting to abdicate and turn Luna into a Republic is so in character and I love it. I also am loving how this is exploring how Iko is treated by a large amount of people in their society and how she is overcoming it.

This was such a fun fast read. I loved being back in this world and seeing the old crew again.

I loved this graphic novel!!

It continues the story of the Lunar Chronicles with a focus on Iko and the role she takes on of trying to round up all of the genetically engineered wolf packs that are still on earth. As we follow Iko’s story, we also get to see all of the other crew members from the Rampion!

Cinder is trying to give up her throne and create a democracy on Luna; Cress and Thorne are delivering Letumosis medication wherever there are outbreaks; Winter and Jacin are acting as Lunar diplomats to earth and trying to encourage the people of earth to get Garren’s impact that stops Lunars from manipulating the people of Earth; Scarlett and Wolf have retired to life on the farm; and Kai is still working as the emperor and trying to encourage the relationship between Lunar and Earth.

Unfortunately there are a handful of the remaining wolf packs left on earth that have banded together under the leadership of Alpha Lysander and they have a mission that appears to be retribution against Cinder.

Love the relationship between Iko and Kinney as the character of Iko continues to grow and expand!

Recommend: anyone that has read the Lunar Chronicles! So probably 13 and up- reading the Lunar Chronicles is probably needed in order to fully understand the Wires and Nerve story; graphics are fantastic and it made for a quick read; very little violence, no bad language, few kisses.

For her first graphic novel, this was very well done. I also really appreciated that while I hadn't read the Lunar Chronicles, I was still able to follow along for the most part and enjoy the story for where it was going rather than too much of a focus on the past. However I do think that people who have read the books will really enjoy the references and inclusion of all characters in this continuation of the series.

Fantastic

A story just as great as the others in the Lunar Chronicles. I love that Iko is getting the spotlight. It’s also great to see what’s going on after the story ended. Love it.

2nd Read: 3.5 Stars! I enjoyed this, but wasn’t quite so blindsided this time. I’m excited to go right into the next book, though. The artwork really is incredible, and it looks like the next is even better.

OMG IKO!!!!!!!!

When I heard about this book, I got so excited. So of course, when I saw it just sitting on the shelf at my library, I had to take it! I LOVE Iko. She’s so awesome and so relatable (is this not a word??? what?????), especially considering she’s an android! I appreciate how this book is in a different format (graphic novel) and tells a different kind of story (from Iko’s point of view) than the original series. It definitely helps keep the content fresh and interesting. And speaking of the whole graphic novel thing…
The drawings are FANTASTIC!!!

Most of the characters look extremely similar to how I pictured them, not including Kai (No idea why, he just looks strange to me). They definitely add an amazing element to the story.
All of my babies are just… Sigh.

I love the whole gang! Cinder is totally awesome, obviously doing well taking care of the kingdom. Kai and Cinder are so blushy talking about each other, which is totally hilarious. Cress and Thorne are just plain goofy. Their romance always puts a smile on my face. Winter is so supportive, and Jacin is entertaining. Scarlet and Wolf are WAY TOO CUTE. TOO MUCH. My poor heart. And of course Iko is so lovable!
The story is fabuloso!

Iko is never recognized for her part in the gang because she’s an android, so she understandably feels lost and out of place. It’s bittersweet to watch her trying to make herself known! Originally posted on Bursting with Books.
