The relationship she had with her father reminded me so so much of Jinx and Silco. I am not okayyyyyyy.I am such a sucker for the doomed father daughter relationship. The end where he dies and he finally tells her he loves her i was bawling my eyes out. I don't know how to feel about Raihn. I understandwhy he did what he did but his alliance with the bloodborn vampires actually scares me. I really like this world but i am concerned for the second one. I was on my toes waiting for Raihn and Oraya to get together. But now i don't know if i still like the relationship they have, since the only option she had was to marry him. Also the betrayal I felt for her. My heart broke when hers broke as well. I knew something was wrong when the Goddess said that a dead lover can't break your heart. And she was right cause why am i so heartbroken and betrayed for her.

This was the first fantasy book I’ve thoroughly enjoyed in a long time - and wow, it was worth it!
The characters are absolutely top tier. Their banter, their dynamics, and the way they worked together were just perfect. Oraya is a fantastic FMC, and Raihn is hands - down one of the best fantasy MMCs I’ve read in ages. I also have to shout out Mische - such a great character!
The atmosphere was incredible. I genuinely felt like I was within the walls of the Moon Palace alongside them. The writing was easy to read and enjoyable; yes, a little repetitive at times, but never enough to pull me out of the story. It stayed informative and always relevant to the world and characters.
And the plot? Brilliant. The twists were even better! Some I thought I had figured out...👀 but I was wrong, and I loved being surprised. One twist had me literally gasping out loud 😂
Once I picked it up, I couldn’t put it down. It held just the right balance of explanation and mystery to keep me hooked all the way through. This is easily on its way to becoming a new favourite of mine! 🫢
