I wasn't expecting this to be what it turned out to be? Maybe I just didn't read the summary well enough. Anyway, I read the whole thing in about an hour and a half so it's obviously a very fast read that pulls you in quick.
The characters are all believable if a bit shallow. The sex scenes are well done. My only real complaint is the supposedly big OH MY GOD plot twist at the end......which I called about 150 pages before it happens. I literally groaned and rolled my eyes, having been hoping I was wrong about it the whole time. But no. Happens just like I said it would. Cliche.
So had it ended any other way than that way, this probably would have gotten four stars.

Ok so this story is about Vivian and Micheal crumbling sex live has a married couple!! Vivian cannot stand having sex with her rich hot husband (she cannot orgams)!! Fed up with their problem, Micheal sends her to see a sex therapist Dr Lindsey...she accepts and goes to her first appointment just to be shocked since she realized Dr. Lindsey is a man and she feels to ashamed to tell him her sex problems so he sends her to Anton a massage therapist (who turns out to accomplish one thing her husband can't).....the rest is up to you guys to read!!
This is not a story for you if you don't like kidnapping/nonconsentual sex/manipulation/BDSM/anal play and much more!!
Love this story and the way it made my mind go from WTF/to that's rape/wake-up girl/to submit!!! There's a lot of Hot sex scenes....Miss Thomas has a lot of imagination when it comes to sex and the scenes or so well written....it leaves you wAnting more!!! Love the girl-on-girl scene and see Vivi taking charge!! Oh and the rain in Dr.Lindsey room (swooning)!!! And the book has an amazing twist that make you say WHAT!!! If I could gave it a 6-7 stars I would!!

Title: Guilty Pleasures by Kitty Thomas (The Pleasure House Book 1)

So I have had Guilty Pleasures on my kindle for a while and finally decided to pick it up to see if it was worth me getting the rest of the series even though they are companion stories. Each book follows a different couple starting with Vivian and Michael, who are married but experiencing trouble in their relationship. Vivi is having trouble being intimate with Michael but she doesn’t know the reason why and it is beginning to take a toll on their marriage so Michael sends to her to Dr. Lindsey, a sex therapist.
Dr. Lindsey despite the name turns out to be a man who recognises that Vivi is uncomfortable and recommended that she see a massage therapist in order to release the tension she is carrying around and this is where things that a strange turn but it does make sense later. Anton, the massage therapist, ends up providing Vivi with a more personal service that allows her to open up about some of the darker desires she has.
After weeks of visiting him and being blackmailed with the threat of sending the videos to Michael, something happens. Vivi gets cut off from her accounts and Michael takes a work trip so she has to pay Anton in a different way and we see the heavier BDSM elements come into play. Anton after a little while ends up taking Vivi to the House, where he is a trainer of submissive sex slaves and he knows this is the kind of treatment that Vivi has been craving despite the fact she has essentially been kidnapped.
At the House Vivi is trained under Lindsey, Anton and Gabe who she has more emotionally connections to but she is terrified of Brian who seems to be the harshest of the trainers. Eventually the time comes for Vivi to be sold to her new Master, which is the intent with all the girls in the house. Vivi panics here because she knows the men she currently submits to but soon learns that her new master is also her husband, Michael. It turns out everything was planned by Michael since he knew that Vivi had the same desires as him but he didn’t know a way he could make her submit to him with it being her idea and her desire, rather than her just doing it to please him. Michael is close friends with Anton and Lindsey and roped them in to help with everything which is why everything didn’t make sense at first but it does by the ending.
Overall, I really liked Vivi’s arc and how she struggled to name the emotions she was feeling and how to put her desires into words but she does eventually find that confidence to be herself. While her training will continue with Michael he does promise her that they will return to the house every month since she has developed connections with her trainers. The next book is following Brian, which I was sceptical about but according to the author we will love him by the end of his book which I am excited to see. The only downside for me was that some of the sex scenes seemed to cut off abruptly like they were left unfinished or they were a little rushed which I hope is worked out in the following books.
Thanks to Wicked Reads for a free book to read and review. I know the authors style but had no idea going in how much this book was going to turn on me. Understandably couples who have been together years go through periods of sexual funk like these two but I have never heard of an ending like that one. Very unique twist, and maybe a bit much on the border of nonconsensual. Overall entertainment was three stars.

This was a fantastic dark romance. I've never predicted a twist and still been so excited about the outcome even I knew what would happen.
