LOVED the first half of this book omg. the angst was perfect. there’s nothing i love more than when a man is down bad AND we got to see his pov. lost interest towards the end with all the fighting.
also lol wayyy too much use of the phrase “there she/he is”. WE GET IT. it was like every other chapter

i liked this book but it took me days before i “started” to really get immersed into it. the audiobook helped me get more into it.
What a disappointing sequel. Poorly paced and lacking the intrigue of the first. Raihn’s POV felt too juvenile to be a centuries-old vampire; I much preferred him as the enigmatic competitor/ally. And the ending?! No. The quest they had been on since early in the novel ended in such an anticlimactic way and the final battle was largely off screen. Suddenly everything was just… over? It was too easy. The redeeming bits were Oraya’s backstory and the small moments in between the action, like going to the human pub and banter with Mische.
I actually hate this book. Internally cringed every time I read “There she is” “There he is”.
Again, the characters and romance had absolutely no depth.
I’ve entered my villain era of book reviewing, I can find no nice things to say about this book.

Hard to put the book down, felt all sorts of emotions about Vincent and Rahim in these books. The writer was able to make us hate and love both so easily. Love a fierce powerful woman
