I really enjoyed this book! I especially enjoyed that it focused on friendship vs. romance, and even family before romance. All the characters were complex, no one was 2 dimensional, and they were all flawed in very human ways. I definitely saw a little bit of myself when I was younger in most of the characters, and I especially loved Cleo.
I also liked that the booked flipped between past and present, so there were no major surprises, but it still had me emotional. I think it ended tied up nicely, but not SO MUCH so that it felt unbelievable. This book is cute, and touching, and warmed my heart when I needed it.

Definitely reads like YA - characters and story feel juvenile, but also relatable. Refreshing to read about female friendships falling apart as this isn’t a common story, but happens in many of our lives.
3.51 stars.
this book was both so good and so painfully cheesy at the same time and now i’m just confused
half of it was like damn and half of it was like i want to bang my head against a wall
but it kind of destroyed me so i feel like overall it was good?

this book is amazing. as a 16 year old who's had a failed bestfriend relationship and constantly doubting my current bestfriend , i saw myself in Cleo.
This is a book i think every teenager should read and experience because wow this is beautiful.

4.5 stars - The title is what reeled me in and when I read the first page and knew this book would move me, and it did exactly that.
The characters were so well written, the story was great, and the pace was good (a little slow at the end). I also liked that both Cleo and Layla did things and that it wasn’t just one sided. Another major plus was the diversity, loved that s much. And also, although the book follows Cleo & Layla, everything that happened around them was explained in such a great way. The antagonists also had a story and weren’t just written to make Cleo & Layla’s plot happen. The only thing I didn’t really care for is the Shakespeare things.
A great book for anyone that is, has been going, or has gone through a (or multiple) friendship breakup. I cannot express the importance of this book enough

DNF. I think it had potential I just didn't think this book was worth it for me. Nothing grabbed me.
This book is about a friendship that split up, new friendships and relationship.
This book was good but I couldn't see myself being the main character so while reading the book I was angry with certain choices Cleo made. I had to take breaks while reading this because I couldn't read this book without being angry.

"To all the girls who broke my heart. Losing you wounded me. Probably more than you know. If I hurt you just as deeply, I’m sorry. And I want you to know our friendship meant something to me. It always will. And to all the girls who feel left behind, forgotten, forsaken by a friendship that wasn’t supposed to be so tenuous, by a person who wasn’t supposed to be impermanent. The hurt will always be there. But it gets better. I promise."
