this book was so REAL. I'm actually obsessed with how amazing this book was written and developed- for sure one of my favs!! I'm in love with how Woodfolk writes such hard-hitting relatable topics and delivers those gut punching lines over and over that make me wanna curl into a ball and cry. the characters first of all, truly amazing, all of them were written so well, each with their own quirks, skills and flaws- they felt like actual people you would be around in high school. The main character of Cleo was so complex and she did some real horrible things but yet you are rooting for her and understanding her decisions as the story unfolds. You can also feel for Layla too and understood how everything fell apart and where it all went wrong. The side characters were also developed so well and contributed to the plot in such a beautiful way, it all felt very real to the teenage friendship experience. The characters connections to each other also felt so authentic such as Jase and Cleo was a dynamic i actually really enjoyed exploring - their conversations were so interesting to me!! Everything about this book and how the characters change and develop was just so believable and interesting. This book brought me to my own experiences with friends in high school but in the best way possible. The ending was honestly something i did not expect but i think it was perfect and the "past" and "present" chapters come together so so well<3 I am in love with this book argh.

One of the best YA books and books about friendship😭 it’s so devastating bc you can see how our MC fucked up in her friendship but also the other girls are RUTHLESS and it shatters your heart to read these two girls not only go through a friendship breakup but also have so much resentment and anger toward one another

This book often reminds Me of the moment when i was depressed and I was telling a “funny “story about my past, to this human I bearly knew.

He stopped and told me it sounds like I was in a great amount of pain and it sounds so hard. This made me cry because it was true after I lost my best friend. So that’s kinda what that book reminds me of.

I wish this book existed when I was in highschool
