Not your typical YA adult book. I kept waiting for a happy ending and you only sort of get one. The character growth was believable and interesting. The main character was very relatable as I think we’ve all been there where a friend hurts us so we lash out. Especially during times of transition/finding yourself as a teenager.

i feel like in another world i could have given this book five stars but in the beginning i wasn't feeling nearly as much of a connection as i was towards the story and the characters as i was at in the end. the quotes were amazing and the story was so heartbreakingly beautiful and relatable. i love the character growth and it was very interesting to see a friendship fall apart and get more in depth thoughts on how people can change.
Aaaaaaaaahhhhhh new favorite off all time. Cannot recommend enough ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

When You Were Everything made me feel like I was breaking apart in a way that aches and heals all at once. Initially I found the pacing slow, but the middle and end made up for it. I wish my younger self could have held onto this book in her darkest moments.
