I listened to the audiobook, which I cannot say I recommend. The narrator has a child-like voice and conversations end up being a long string of this child voice saying “he said”, “she said”. For me, this killed the suspense built by the story.

Not scary but thought it was a decent enough story and it kept my attention. Bella’s mom should win an award for worst person though. She’s a bad mom and a bad wife and totally unreasonable. Really, the only reasonable person was the grandma.

I did not enjoy the lack of speech marks - I understand it's a stylistic choice, but it ruins the flow of a novel and makes me DNF. I also found the content itself to be shallow and boring, for as far as I got into it.
