Always fun in its own right, but even better when read as a follow-up to Norse Gods. In fact, it's hard to believe Gaiman wrote this one first.
I have heard a lot about Neil Gaiman and wanted to finally see what type of stuff he had to say. I started with this set of short stories and enjoyed the simplicity of the tales. I'm looking forward to reading more of his work to gain a broader perspective.

Super fun and cute. And short! Which sometime I think kids' books (all books, really) are way too long, and I really appreciated that he kept the story short on this one. A very fun intro to Norse mythology.
The pathetic kind of book that gains from the author's name.
Not the worst filth you might read, porbably even a 3*, but, please, Gaiman has given much better work.

Yup. Exactly what you are hoping it is, if this is what you are hoping it is:
A 14,000 word YA Neil Gaiman novelette, that hits all the Gaiman-esque marks, has a deeper metaphorical meaning if you are looking for it, and makes you feel good.
Audiobook is highly recommended.

An unbelievably fast read, this small book is a sweet Norse fairy tale about a boy called Odd who becomes friends with a bear who isn't really a bear and then other stuff happens, but you should read it to find out what.
