this book was wonderful. it gives a brief glimpse into norse mythology while telling a great story about a clever boy. entertaining enough to get me interested in reading more on norse mythology. definitely a good one for children.
Highly entertaining and memorable tale set in Norse Mythology.
An entertaining book for children that has a very fairy tale feel. Good lessons for little ones, but it felt more like an outline of a story than a complete tale.
A great kids chapter book. Thoroughly enjoyed the story.
Neil Gaiman’s reading in the audiobook is enrapturing! Definitely give it a listen if you get the chance.
I got this book years ago, but lost it after moving 4 years ago. And yesterday I finally found it and decided to read it.
Neil Gaiman is one of my favourite authors and I really enjoy his books. This one was no exception. I love vikings, I love all the gods they had.
Odd was a very interesting character, I still have no clue how he works though, since he can't seem to say no and thinks it is totally normal to just save the world from a giant. Like it is nothing.
The story, Giants winning (for once) and Gods losing was a fun one, I am normally used to the gods winning everything.
I loved the ending, though I can't really understand how Freya couldn't fix his whole leg. Isn't she a goddess? Why is she still bound by stuff?
I wish it had more illustrations though.
The title is also a bit off. Since it was only one Frost Giant, and not more than that.
All in all a fun short book.

Lovely little Norse story. Will have to learn more about Odin and the lot now...
A good and short tale about a boy. an outcast, who rides to help the Viking gods throw the frost giants out of Valhalla. As the boy, named Odd, uses his brains and charm to defeat the giants, this would be a great take to read to young boys.
Seguramente el mejor libro que haya leido este año. Delicioso desde el principio al final. Una delicia de la pluma de Gaiman, magníficamente ilustrado por Chris Riddell.
