Would have been 5 stars had it not been for a few flash-forward moments (in italics) which spoiled the mood and tone. Does anyone write without time jumps anymore?

I loved the way the tension built so slowly - the last part of the book was hard to read but really beautifully written.
Such beautiful writing. The ending was so tense, but I do wish I could know more. I understand why it was left so ambiguous, but it just ended so suddenly.
