The ominous tone of this debut has been seeping into my days and nights. At first it lightly drips, begging a certain caution. When the dread becomes torrential it has long been expected and there’s nothing left to do but bask in it’s last moments. And man, what a final act.

Really liked this. Very beautifully and lyrically written, and I grew to love the family of three. Halfway through I wasn’t sure if I cared about what happened next but by the time I got to 3/4 through, I got so nervous and tense about ‘Daddy’ that I could barely breathe. Not a perfect book by any means but an arresting, quirky, beautiful and sad one.
