I liked this but not as good as the first. This is not a romance book. This romance is secondary to the actual plot. I enjoy the added storyline of Atlas’s life/past and that it’s not just about Lily and Ryle. I think the ending fizzled out a bit and the romance was honestly a little annoying and not that great. That being said I love Atlas’s story. This is a good book picks right off where the first one ended so if you enjoyed that one you will enjoy this as well, just wasn’t a knock out like It Ends With Us was for me.

Solid 3
before you come after me- i want to explain myself.
The book wasn’t bad, I just didn’t find it that entertaining. It was a really fast and easy read, i read for 6 hours straight and i finished it in a day.
————————————————————————
The whole problem with this book is that it really wasn’t something that would make me feel a certain way. Perhaps, mesmerized, happy, sad, etc. The writing style sure made me want to continue reading for hours and I don’t argue on that.
Sadly, the book is nothing more than an expected continuing of [b:It Ends With Us|27362503|It Ends with Us (It Ends with Us, #1)|Colleen Hoover|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1470427482l/27362503._SY75_.jpg|43940889]. If I need to be honest, I didn’t quite catch what would have changed if Atlas didn’t have a brother. There was some useless story line that didn’t do anything for the plot except for drawing out the attention from the main topic.

This was horrible and utterly disappointing. Poorly and generically written, Colleen somehow managed to make a forever kind of “soulmate” love dull and oversaturated with the most cringey kind of dialogue and interactions (I wanted to melt away when the hug stuff started happening). It Ends With Us ended on such a loving twist of fate and Colleen demolishes it quickly with the promise of “taking things slow” between Lily and Atlas.
At least this book finally put the nail in the coffin for Ryle’s character.
The whole subplot with Atlas and his family was YAWN. I was not invested.
It Starts With Us had no substance, no purpose. It was meandering, stereotypical hunky-dory storytelling.
