I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my unbiased opinion.
When Mackenzie Cooper takes her eyes off the road for a second to look at her GPS, her entire life changes. Her 5-year-old daughter died in the resulting crash; her marriage fell apart; her family stopped speaking to her, and she even had a state law named after her to remind people of what she had done. Unable to cope, she moves to Vermont to work as a makeup artist under the name Maggie Reid. She likes her new life and fears losing it again when, on the same day, Maggie's best friend's son is arrested for hacking, and her ex-husband shows up in town as the new owner of the Inn and Spa where she works. Burying her past will no longer work; she has to face her demons head on.
This story is at times gut wrenching and at other times heartwarming. The emotions Maggie feels really comes through. I would highly recommend this book to readers who love women's fiction.

Silly chick lit. I lost interest in it around halfway through. However, there are plenty of people who would find the premise and characters interesting. Just not my style.

I got halfway through and tossed it aside. It was just too unrealistic for me. Maybe I have read too much non-fiction lately. I don't know. If you have been that hurt by someone and abandoned in your time of need, would you really let them touch you again?

I thought all the problems got solved too easily. I did get invested in Grace's story but only found out what happened to her and her son in the epilogue. A disappointing Delinsky.

Enjoyable read, though the pace was a bit slow at times. I'd say the best part of the book for me was the relationship between the protagonist and her ex-husband, and the chemistry between them. Quick and easy women's lit read (albeit the slow pace at times) .

I listened to this one as an audiobook. Delinsky writes a story of processing grief, starting over, and facing the past. Set in small-town Vermont, the characters and setting are charming. However, their charmed life is quickly disrupted when the town is filled with federal officers and figures from Mackenzie's past that she never thought she'd see again. I love how Delinsky connects the way Mackenzie works with makeup to how she works with pottery, and how both help her to process what's happening in her life. There were a few sections that were PG-13, and while I am over 13, I fast-forwarded through those sections and I would not recommend this book to young readers. Overall, though, a great story.

Okay story, too much rambling and repeating to make me a fan of this author

I received a copy of this book through the Goodreads giveaway program. It was an okay book. I really don't have an opinion about it one way or the other. It was a middling read.
