I really liked this book, but it broke me of ever reading postmodern (post-postmodern?) lit ever again.

It is a beautiful book about nothing. It is a work of incredible talent and erudition bent around a meaningless nothing-burger with (or possibly without) sprouts.

I read it long and long ago, and it stuck in my brain like a splinter, but there is nothing to it. You will learn nothing, you will probably feel nothing. Most of the characters are unlikable, most of the situations are unbelievable.

It's beautiful though.

“Well fuck me. I’m just grateful I got some of that out. It’s been up in my head, renting space, you know what I’m saying?… But I’m just glad to be here. I just wanted to get some of that shit out.” (P. 960)
