3.5. Cute but felt like something was missing.

Asher and Phoebe!

I simply adore the two of them. Asher is so freaking sweet. Phoebe perfectly described him as a toasted marshmallow- he’s all hard on the outside and goey on the inside. The way he completely steps up for her had me kicking my feet and smiling so hard. I love that there’s a conflict in the end but no third act breakup. They communicate so well, and are so good at being their for each other.
Olivia was a really cute kid as well- I enjoyed the ASL representation.
Also it was fun hearing about Cloverleigh farms, and how her best friend is Emmeline. Love when authors crossover like that.

This book had everything I love in a romance. Age gap, grumpy sunshine, forbidden love, bosses daughter, truly an amazing group of tropes in this book! Phoebe and Asher are just so sweet, and I love that Asher is a softie for Phoebe, always being such a grump to everyone else but has a soft spot for her.

The ASL rep in this book was such a good change of pace from typical romances! I really enjoyed it and will definitely seek out more in the future. I can’t wait for Grady & Addison’s book!

Corinne Michaels left no crumbs with this tender, gentle, and ever so loving small town romance! She won me over with the sweetest town of Sugarloaf, the easiest to love side characters, and an epic love story!

We start with our local sheriff, Asher Whitlock. I always feel like a small town setting book is starting off good when our mmc is a freaking sheriff. Oh and did I mention this man is A GRUMP! Anyways, he is in desperate need for a nanny for his sweet 9 year old daughter, Olivia. It's not as easy as picking any ole nanny though, he needs a nanny that can communicate with Olivia through ASL, since she is deaf. This proves to be next to impossible within their small little town. Except for one. Phoebe. His boss's daughter. His boss's WAY YOUNGER daughter.

Phoebe is returning back home after her heart was broken and stomped on and became the center of negative attention in her grad program. So her plan is to come home while she begins the process of transferring schools. Well, a perfect job has fell into her lap! Nannying for Asher's daughter. Only she doesn't care for Asher at all. Olivia, of course, saves the day with her cuteness and quickly develops a bond with Phoebe.

Okay the tension between Phoebe and Asher is insane. I was on the edge of my seat waiting for their first kiss (which was soo totally worth it btw). Asher deals with some guilt especially because of their 14 year age difference and the fact that Phoebe is his boss's daughter. But he cannot resist his nanny.

This book is sizzling and sweet and just everything I look for when reading a small town romance. I absolutely loved every second of it!

I wanted to love this one, but it took some weird turns that I didn't like. Plus it seemed too insta love for my liking.

I wasn’t expecting spicy.

I loved the first 3/4 of the book! I listened to the audiobook and the narration was amazing! However the twist in the last fourth of the book was a bit much for me.

This was a super cute fun read. I love single dad romances and adding in an age gap and small town and I'm hooked. I was a little worried about how Corinne was going to handle Phoebe finishing school and not giving up her dreams for a guy. But she went in an unexpected direction which I appreciated. I also loved the relationship between Asher and Sara - they really showed how two people can co-parent a child and not be together.

I also loved all the little easter eggs from Melanie Harlow's Cloverleigh Farms. It makes me what a story for Emmeline.
