unplanned pregnancies
are not a cute trope in this political climate

Asher and Phoebe do not get along and know each other because he works for her father, but Asher needs her help; he has to have someone that knows ASL to watch his daughter. I love a nanny romance, especially when it is enemies to lovers.

Could be better

Asher Whitlock is the head of the SWAT department for Sugarloaf, PA, and he has a 9 year old Deaf daughter who needs a nanny while baby mama Sara goes to Israel for a few months for work. Sara and Asher never had a relationship, except for co-parenting Liv after an unexpected pregnancy.

Phoebe Bettencourt was in grad school, majoring in Audiology, but after an incident at school involving her Philosophy professor, she's run back home to Sugarloaf where her dad is the Chief, and Asher's boss.

Phoebe takes the job as Liv's nanny - but she and Asher are like oil & water, constantly butting heads.

Asher is tempted, but Phoebe is 24 and he is 38, and he has always figured he'd be alone forever. There are a lot of starts, with Asher always being the one to back away - until Phoebe suggests a short term fling, just until she goes back to grad school.

The only thing I didn't like about this story was that the professor should have gotten more punishment. There's no way a guy like that wouldn't have been inappropriately involved whenever the opportunity arose. But... it is what it is. The spice was :::chef's kiss::: and Asher and Phoebe never really changed their personalities for the other, they just embraced and accepted each other.

I'd never read a Corinne Michaels before and was cautiously optimistic going into this one. I didn't mind the story but the last third really wasn't it for me at all.

what the… i am speechless. like i have no words. forbidden hearts is freaking everything. it deserves all the love, all the hype and all the stars!! phoebe and asher are perfection. phoebe is so strong and i admire her so much. i honestly can’t even describe it. and asher. holy hell. that mad is the standard. that’s it. i mean a hot cop who is the best dad and who is insanely protective, caring, and understanding. like hello!?! and liv is a freaking character. boy did i love her so much. the representation was amazing and i loved getting to see more into phoebe, asher, and liv’s life. the writing was impeccable and i felt as if i was right there with everyone the whole time. i cannot wait to read about grady and addison!
