Corinne Michaels brought us back to Sugarloaf, PA with another wonderful small town romance. Asher Whitlock is the SWAT commander for the Sheriff’s department and he’s in a bind. His nanny quit on short notice and has very specific requirements for the caretaker of his daughter. One of them being anyone other than Phoebe Bettencourt. She babysat when Olivia was a toddler and he’ll never forget it. But a lot can change in six years.

Asher and Phoebe’s story was EPIC. Like possibly my favorite Corinne Michaels book, epic. The push and pull, the tension, the banter. I simply cannot. Asher and Phoebe’s love can’t be denied and adding in Olivia who was written with the utmost care, sensational.

Twists and turns take us through the small town backroads if Forbidden Hearts and I didn’t want the ride to end!

Solid story. Loved the main character’s career plans to be an audiologist and her commitment to get there.

The grumpy mmc was fine. He’s not gonna be one my book boyfriends, but he was all right.

Thank you so much to @corinnemichaels for sending me an arc copy! I absolutely loved everything about this book!

Phoebe is a grad student who suddenly comes home early for the summer. Asher is a single dad to Olivia who is Deaf and he needs a nanny when the one he had lined up suddenly quits the agency. Phoebe is an audiology major and Asher reluctantly lets her nanny.

They kept trying to avoid their feelings but neither of them could stay away. Since Phoebe was leaving at the end of the summer to go back to school, a short, secret summer fling sounded like the perfect remedy. Both fell hard and fast and I loved watching them both hold back their feeling but yet giving the other everything.

I loved Phoebe’s relationship with Olivia. They became fast friends and had such a special connection. Asher is the best single dad, only wanting the best for Olivia.

There is nothing I love more than a book with no 3rd act breakup. Asher and Phoebe talked out the problem and Asher reassured Phoebe that he wasn’t going anywhere. They both were strong and vulnerable and allowed themselves to be who they were as people. Love, love, loved the book!

It is no secret that I love Corinne. I yell at her constantly but she's literally one of my favorite people ever. It's just our love language! ;) This book blew me away. It was absolutely everything I needed in a book and there is no comparison.

Asher and Phoebe shouldn't work. She's YOUNG and he's a single dad and so grumpy. She's also his boss's daughter. But Phoebe happens to be the only person in their small town of Sugarloaf (oh how I love this town!) that is fluent in ASL for his daughter so she becomes his nanny. Phoebe doesn't take his attitude but rather gives it right now....I feel like this is a first for Asher and I was here for it.

Their relationship was one for the books. Dare I say that Asher Freakin Whitlock is my favorite out of ALL of Corinnes men? (sorry Liam....) He is absolutely perfect in every way. And Phoebe and Asher together is explosive in the best way possible. I think this my all time favorite Corinne book! She absolutely did everything right with this book! I couldn't put it down and am now thoroughly hungover. Thank you for bringing us back to Sugarloaf, my friend. You have completely outdone yourself.

Forbidden Hearts is for sure a top read so everyone needs this book in their life!

4.5 stars

I absolutely LOVEDDD the start of this series. Phoebe and Asher were so perfect. And we all know I'm a sucker for a single dad and a nanny and my book besties told me I absolutely had to read this book.

Phoebe came home from college to escape a bad situation and her dad finds her a job as a nanny with Asher's daughter. His daughter is deaf and they need a nanny that can sign so she doesn't have to struggle to communicate. The one problem is Phoebe and Asher already know each other and he doesn't trust her. Too bad he doesn't have a choice though because there are no other nannies to help out that know ASL.

Asher is a grumpy man but oh my god the protectiveness is off the charts. Plus he has SUCH a dirty mouth. He also drove 13 hours just to punch someone in the face with her which is just iconic and king behavior. Phoebe's sass and charm was amazing and I loved seeing her come into her own. She is a badass and I'm so proud of her character.

Corinne Michaels was a new author to me so I wasn’t sure what to expect. But I loved this book! Asher appears to be grumpy but is really a marshmallow at heart and Phoebe was genuine.

Loved this story! Literally could not put it down, so I just didn't sleep all night... THAT made for a long day, but it was so worth it!!!

Oh Asher…
