Predictable romance. Cute and lighthearted with some drama in the mix. Good read.

Binged would be an understatement! Devoured is more like it. I was so excited to be back in Sugarloaf…throw in Cloverleigh connection and my small town loving heart was in heaven

I’m kicking myself for waiting so long jump into this series. You can’t go wrong with the single dad/nanny trope and I ate this story up. We love a man in uniform and Daddy Asher Whitlock is *chef’s kiss*. Phoebe is the perfect sunshine to his grumpy and fits in perfectly with Asher and Olivia. The twist at the ending?! I didn’t see the that coming but loved it!

Phoebe is back home in small town Pennsylvania after leaving grad school when one bad decision led to a mountain of ridicule & embarrassment. Instead of wallowing in bed as planned, she finds herself as the nanny for the nine year old daughter of town sheriff, Asher Whitlock. While Asher would prefer just about anyone else as a nanny for his daughter, Olivia, Phoebe being fluent in sign language outweighs his concerns. It’s not long before the two find themselves skirting around sexual tension thick enough to cut with a knife. Not sleeping with the hot single dad who is 14 years your senior and not lusting over your boss’ daughter? Not as easy as the two thought.

☀️My thoughts: I absolutely loved this & I’m so glad I saw book besties on insta talking about it! Both Asher & Phoebe were great main characters with depth & emotions that had me connecting to them. Corinne mastered the grumpy/sunshine aspect and the tension & banter were perfect! I loved how Phoebe didn’t care about getting under Asher’s skin and stayed true to herself. She was also was very dedicated and responsible with Olivia and their scenes together were so sweet. I’m glad she reminded Asher that she’s not the same irresponsible 17-year old he remembers and she deserves some trust & respect. As for Asher, he was grumpy but filled with passion & his concern to have the best for Olivia melted my heart.

When the both of them finally said “fuck it” and let their desires win out, it was electric! I really enjoyed that this was a “we shouldn’t do this” romance where both main characters want to act responsibly while also exploring their passion. & their healthy communication was so refreshing to read!

Now I tend to pride myself on seeing twists coming but there were two plot points (actually kinda 3!) that had me going OMFG!!!! So extra kudos to the author for surprising me!!!!
