I kinda saw the pregnancy coming but did not at all see it being that other guys baby or the connection between Asher and him. I felt like the book was progressing so great and I loved their banter and relationship and then he found out and thought it was his baby and was like damn I really did not want to have another kid like this and then just really expedited shit and asked her to marry him and I just feel like it was really rushed and not really what either of them necessarily wanted at that moment. I just didn’t love that part but I did love Phoebe and Olivia’s relationship I thought it was really great and so was the portrayal of the deaf/hard of hearing community!

God.. FMC is soooo annoying. Otherwise it might have been cute.

I was really enjoying this book, then it took a turn for me that almost ruined the book for me. I know some enjoy this type of situation but I did not.

FORBIDDEN HEARTS, the first book in Corinne’s Whitlock Family books. I have to say that “the nanny” can be a very tricky romance to write. You either nail it or fail it. I’m here to tell you that Corinne NAILED IT!!! I loved every second of this story.

Asher is a single father to an adorable little girl who also happens to be deaf, which plays a huge role in the story. I haven’t read to many books with a deaf character and I feel like the author definitely put a lot of thought into this aspect of the story.

It was a breath of fresh air to read about co-parents that actually get along, make it work and have the child’s best interest at heart. I think the “jaded ex” narrative is over played and I really enjoyed the dynamics of Asher, Sara and Phoebe. Very well done!

Phoebe, the nanny, is home from school and not on a break. She’s been through a traumatic event that sent her fleeing. She tries to keep her secrets hidden but when everything finally comes out, you won’t believe the ending!

I LOVE like, love love looooove a good enemies/hate to love story. They’re always exciting and the tension leads to so much steam! Asher and Phoebe’s chemistry is off the charts. These two are forced together and it doesn’t take long before the temptation takes over.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story and getting to meet this new group of friends and family. But I have to say that I am even MORE excited to see that we get to see Addison from Rose Canyon find her HEA. In true Corinne Michaels fashion, we never truly have to say goodbye forever. There’s always hope of a guest appearance!!!

I think for authors, the start of a new series is probably terrifying. But for me, it’s one of my favorite things! We get to know new characters and anticipate all the love stories that may be to come. I much prefer new beginnings to saying goodbye to characters we’ve gotten to know like they’re part of our own tribe.

DNF at 284. Honestly, the third act took a tank that made me realize I don't care to finish the last 100 pages. So I'm not going to. Not for me.
fast-paced

This book was so good! I loved the age gap between Asher and Phoebe. I loved that he fell first! I loved almost everything about it. I felt the plot twist at the end was a little out of left field. I mean it worked for the story but there was no hinting of it or how it might be. So I felt a little thrown for a loop. Other then that a great story and I look forward to reading the next one.

The book was going SO GOOD until the last half. They had a good enemies to lovers/friends relationship going and then BOOM
