I can’t rate this yet, because I still don’t know if I liked it or not. I’m just not sure
I listened to this book and loved everything about it!! Grumpy sunshine, enemies to lovers, small town vibe, steamy romance, everything good that could be in a book is in this book! Also if you’re a Melanie Harlow fan, you will see some of her characters in this book!! Loved it!!
This book was so sweet and so spicy. I live for an enemies to lovers, live in nanny trope and this was done very well. Phoebe is on summer break back home when she lands a job as Olivia’s nanny for a cop who happens to work for her dad. They both very much dislike each other however Phoebe is the only one who speaks ASL and can help look after Asher’s daughter who is dead. Phoebe and Olivia develop a beautiful friendship and Asher and Phoebe eventually break down the walls. I loved the spice in this and I love a no third act break up. It did annoy me a bit towards the end with Phoebe being very much we can’t do this, you can’t want me, nagging but I did admire Asher’s persistence in standing his ground. Looking forward to reading more by this author!
ok ok ok!!!! this was my first Corrine Michaels experience and I’ll definitely be coming back for this series. I’m very invested in this family and this town. I’m a sucker for a single dad x nanny romance. And the ASL rep?! loved.
What a way to start a new series! Corinne always pulls you right in to ever story, and of course this one was no different. I was hooked from the first page and didn’t put the book down until I was done. Phoebe is coming home early from grad school after heartbreak she didn’t see coming and trying to figure out what her next steps will be. Asher is looking for a nanny, for his daughter Olivia when the agency called and says one he had lined up quit last minute. They try to send someone else out, but he needs someone who knows ASL. Phoebe doesn’t really have a plan but her dad sets her up with nannying Olivia, which neither her or Asher seemed very thrilled about at first. Their banter is great, they push one another’s buttons and don’t care, then tension is also there and you watch it slowly build. The one thing they both have in common is how much they love Olivia. So it should be no problem if that’s the focus. Of course, we know that’s never how it works, so when feelings get involved and lines are crossed what happens when it’s all over? And when big surprises are dropped? All of the feels. Asher was grumpy, but only soft for Phoebe, and Phoebe puts up a tough exterior but finally opened up to him. Honestly, this is one of my favorite reads. I’m already counting down for the next book!

Asher is in desperate need for a nanny for his deaf daughter. And with such perfect timing, Phoebe has returned back from college for the summer, and she just happens to know ASL. Phoebe has babysat for Asher before, and that did not turn out well, so he’s super hesitant on agreeing for her to watch his daughter. However, he finally agrees after some much needed convincing. Suddenly, Phoebe and Asher are realizing they have feelings for each other, but they know they can’t cross that line because not only is Phoebe the nanny, but she’s also his boss’s daughter. And she’s 14 years younger than him.
Asher is super protective of his family and the ones he loves. He also loves to show off his dominant side in the bedroom. Phoebe is a bit of a hot mess, but she’s so good with Olivia, Asher’s daughter. They develop such a beautiful relationship, which made my heart so happy.
I absolutely loved reading this. If you’re in your age gap, forbidden romance era, I HIGHLY recommend this one. This book made me smile, cry, laugh, swoon, and blush. I am so excited to read about the rest of the Whitlock siblings!! ❤️❤️❤️
