This book was a fun nanny romance, that gave everything I need this trope to give.
Phoebe becomes a nanny for this week deaf girl and slowly starts falling for her grumpy asshole dad, who’s also a cop. WE HAVE OUR SEXY AGE GAP.
The problem besides the entire employee-boss thing? Her dad is his boss.
To sum it up: nanny romance, forbidden romance, age gap, small town, spicy spice. Sounds good to you? It is good!
This was a clear four star read for me, that I just ate up. Read this entire book in a few hours because I was captivated.
Until a plot turn that destroyed the entire book for me. I lost all interest and excitement for the story, but I want to stress that this was not really because the book became bad.
It’s just that I whole heartily dislike this trope so it was a no for me. DOES NOT MEAN YOU WILL FEEL THE SAME ABOUT IT. I am not a fan and personally would have preferred everything from the 80% mark to be different; but it’s still written well! So a me-problem not the books. There was also another plottwist, that was just ridiculous and far fetched for me personally.
But if we extract those personal preferences, i highly enjoyed this read!
I would recommend it to all my nanny romance lovers. Maybe read the following though, because I know many feel the same as me about this certain thing so… SPOILER: there’s a surprise pregnancy.
Will definitely check out other books by the author tho, because I really enjoyed her writing, storytelling and characters.

Started good, Phoebe was good and so was Asher. I love his daughter Olivia and Phoebes dad. The sexual tension and spice were good. But then there is a plot twist at 75% that just keeps getting worse and worse. Check the CWs.
Plot twist reveal:
She is pregnant with her lying exs baby, who was her professor and married. And also Asher’s former bestie that SAed his sister… and she keeps the baby. WTF

Very much a fan of the ASL and bringing more awareness + representation to the deaf community. But the town is called sugarloaf (🫠😵💫) and the plot twist at the end made zero sense. So much so that I scoured other reviews to feel validated in my confusion within the last 100 pages lol.
I absolutely loved this book. It's a grumpy sunshine, age gap romance about a single dad who falls for the nanny but shes not just any nanny, she's his boss' daughter. This story is set in a small town and is about a sheriff who has a daughter who is hearing impaired and his arrangements for a nanny for the summer fall through. She is a grad student with a degree in Audiology who had a situation at her school and is home and wants to switch schools to complete her degree. They are instantly attracted but know they are not meant to be. He is especially resistant because of her age and who she is. I loved the dynamic between these two, he is a grumpy guy with a lot on his shoulders but with her, he's a big softie. His daughter is a sweetheart and Corinne Michaels did a great job with writing her as a spunky child without being annoying. I highly recommend this book for anyone who loves small town romance and can't wait to read the rest of the series.
